I got the measurements from Stillen here they are ( the dimensions of the air filter which is 6” flang, 7 ½” base, 5 1/8” top , and 5” in height ) this is a special design for Stillen only and is not available for purchase through K&N. So does D2C have anything that would go in place of that?

How wide is the opening of the filter where it attaches to the heatshield/piping? If there is a velocity stack (metal ring type thing that the screws secure to, and the filter is braced around), then I am pretty sure you could get a replacement R2c filter.
The screws do go all the way through the heat shield into the velocity stack that is held around the cone by one of those silver screw band things not sure what they name of it is.

Maybe they meant they will start looking at the product after SEMA.

Yes they do, and we sell them for $65.

I wouldn't say that yet. My conversations with these guys indicate that they intend to make the part, but the schedule I've been hearing is a bit more stretched out than what I've seen discussed in this thread. A continued show of interest (emails directly to R2C) should keep this moving along - they've been impressed by the demand shown by maxima enthusiasts.

+1 on a group buy.

Can someone fill me in on what makes this intake so much better than a stillen or Takeda? I was about to buy one of those others ones but if this gets more HP or benefits Ill hold off.

For one, it uses a dry filter media so to clean it all you have to do is blow it out with an airgun - no oiling required. Also, check out http://forums.maxima.org/6th-generat...ake-works.html for some more info. Their products are top notch, and a TON of engineering goes into them. Not to take anything away from the R&D of other companies, but R2C doesn't F around.

Thats great news. January would be about perfect for me, allow my accounts to recover from the holiday season. Can't wait, I would definetly be down for a Group buy/ Group deal on this intake.

I got the same reply as you did...

"Thanks for your inquiry. The Maxima systems through '08 are in production with inventory available in polished and black nickel. The '09 systems have been designed and will be produced and available in January.

I'll add a note to our New Products area on the site and send a message to you as soon as we have product available.

Sincerely,
Ed
R2C Performance"

I am down for a group buy/deal.

Got word from Ed a few moments ago... the 7th Gen intake will be ready in January.

Just so you guys have an idea of what to expect, here are 2 teasers of the 6th Gen intake in Black Chrome.

Nice, thats nasty. How about a pic of the filter?

On the 6th gen is there a ram air like the 7th gen? Where does that end up when this is installed?

Please post pics when its installed!

The 6th Gen has that snorkle thing just above the grill that directs air to the stock filter box. There weren't any benefits, honestly, so they just closed off the filter.

This will go in pretty much the same spot as the stock air box.. to the right of the battery, right above the fender wheel well. There will still be enough room around the front of the heat shield to allow cooler air from the wheel well area where the Fujita/Nismo etc. long-tube CAIs have the filter.

Here's what i got from Ed:

I'm inquiring as to when the fielding/sell Date will be for the RC2 Intake for the 2009/2010 Nissan Maxima?

Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

ED's response:

Hello Staff Sergeant and thanks for your e-mail.

The earlier Maxima system was just released and we hope to have the '09 Maxima system shipping in late January.

I'll keep you posted.

Have a safe and Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday season.

Regards,
Ed
R2C Performance

I asked more questions:

Thanks for the update Ed, I appreciate it very much. I will definitely be purchasing it when it comes out, I love the craftsmanship and quality of the work you guys do there.

I really couldn't make out what was on the attachment, do you mind interpreting? Also, by any chance; do you know if there will be some kind of Group Deal for Members of Maxima.org or the price will be no higher than $250?

I apologize for the all the questions, just excited about the Intake.

Thanks again.

Brian

Ed's response:

This is the Maxima system for the earlier models Brian.

We will certainly offer the forum members a discount and we appreciate the interest.

Sincerely,
Ed

No price was mentioned but at least he did offer a discount for us at Maxima.org

I'm looking forward to this especially in January since my B'day is in Jan and my Wifey is going to have to buy me a B'day present.

Any guesses as to what I'm going to ask for on my B'day??

I'll give you a hint, what's Black and Pretty (besides me, LOL) and goes real fast! LOL

Yeah I can't even get pricing from them. lol

But Brian Catts (Cattman Performance) will be selling these when they are ready... there will definitely be a group deal for both the 6th and 7th Gens...

I have seen the black chrome in person (a dual G37 system) in person. It's the most beautiful intake I have ever seen.

Let's get the 7th Gen out the door first, my fear is if you keep insisting on discounts, etc before it's even on the market they may just say "not worth the aggravation" and move on. This is a 30-40k+ (US) car we surely can't be this cheap for a "real" high quality dyno proven performance part with a superior filtration system.

I agree.

And i'll be the first to say that I don't care how much it costs... I WILL be putting this on my car. The more it costs, the longer I will wait to get it, but I WILL be getting it regardless.
