OIL CHANGE FOR A 2005?
Is it at every 3,000 miles or 5,000 to do an OIL CHANGE on a 2005 Maxi.? I heard to different things. Has anyone used this new thing. Liquid-titanium Syn. Oil, for their Nissan's???? I just heard and about that type this weekend. Hit me up with the answer on yolanman@yahoo.com also please. Thank you.

Depend how much you drive. Mine is not a daily driver and I do my oil changes at 7K with full synthetic oil and quality oil filter. If daily driver, I would do it at 5000K. 3000 is myth invented by hungry dealer ships to bend you over and stick it to you every 3000 miles, it's bull. I tested this on one of my older cars and ran the same oil for 10K with no issues. Just regular driving, nothing hardcore or out of the ordinary. The 3000 mile oil changes are for idiots that don't know jack about engines. Just make sure you pick the right oil for the right weather or driving habits and you'll be fine at 5K.

Peenzoil Ultra 5w30 with Purloator PUREone filter... I change my oil anywhere between 5-7500 miles, depending on what kind of driving I've done during each cycle.
That oil/filter combo IMO is great.

For 22.95 at the dealer I do mine every 3000 miles it is the cheapest piece of mind and the most important thing for your motor yes you could probably do it every 5000 miles but for less that 25 bucks its the best thing you can do for your motor especially down the road its the blood of your car.

3000 miles is no longer the norm. Even conventional motor oil lasts much longer than that. Google it, there's talks about the Myth all over the place.
Think of the polar bears, don't do short intervals. 4500 to 7500, depending on conditions...and oil type. Some can go longer.

i was told the same thing by the dealer but at 24 for an oil change. i'm assuming that they are using regular oil. i'm going with synthetic and yes i know its easy to just let them do it at that price but at least i have peace of mind knowing that i did it myself. considering that this is the easiest car that i've ever own to change the oil.

If I was going to drive my car for over a billion miles than I can see using synthetic. I drive mine an average of 75000 to 85000 than trade it however if I wanted to keep it longer it would last well over 150000 with normal oil changes every 3000 miles. It's what your preference is I bet if you take a poll the percentage of people that use Synthetic are very small compared to conventional oil. And when I said the jury is still out I meant cost wise most people do not do there own oil changes and the amount of time an average person keeps their car which is about 3 to 4 years being Synthetic or conventional nothing will happen to there motor using either just as long as you actually change the oil routinely.

Just a heads up. I just changed oil and switched to AMSOIL XL full syn. The difference is like night and day. Got a quote on the whole pkg (oil & high performance filter) from a forum member talkinghorse. Anyone interested in making the switch should definitley send him a PM.
