Rb26 maxima

hey guys I wanted to post this for a while now but just got around to it I blew my vdq30 and wanted to do something different with my maxima that i don't think anyone has tried or I have not heard of doing to a maxima so I went out and bought the rb26dett engine and and do a transplant into my maxima. I am 2 months into the project and have pics that I will post on the weekend when I go home and yes the car will be rear wheel drive.

so what rear subframe are you using? How are you planning to attach it to the body of the maxima.

what trans are you going to run?

why an rb26dett?

and why in a maxima?

how are you going to do your motor mounts and re do the front subframe?

Ill believe it when i see it.

to put pictures upload them to a site like imageshack or photobucket and then link them here.

its already attaxhed with a lot of custom work, I am running the rb25 tranny and as for why in a maxima no one expects it but the real reason is that there are a lot of imports making a name and it seems like everyone forgot about the maxima so I wanted to change that want to run wild on the streets

wow, will believe it when i see it. did you make it rear wheel drive or leave it front wheel? and as far as the maxima's not having a name for themselves, they do. they are known by car guys not JDM nutswingers. very interested in pics, and i guess my other question is why leave it a twin turbo, why not just make it a single?

yeah im interested in seeing pictures of the engine cradle setup, how close the steering shaft/rack is to the turbos and down pipe, how the motor sits, the rear suspension of the car, and etc.

Im assuming the firewall has been cut a good bit, ive seen a few RB swapped cars and its always a tight squeeze.

its rear wheel drive i used a j 30 back couldn't find a 240 at the scrap yard well the twin turbo is unique and the guys at the shop wanted it like that to prevent lag with aftermarket turbos, it was explained to me as having equal pressure in the cylinders

yes its a tight fit but its clean fit the down pipe had to be custom and the steering also was a pain but they got it

Indeed. I figure this it'll either turn out like the twin turbo 4th gen/every other VQ35 swapped J30 before Aaron, or like Jime shocking us with the 10's.

It'll really turn out to be one extreme or the other.
