I want to get a MTX Thunder 1000XD Amp. Problem is it's says the max input is 4V...and the gain setting on the amp is from 5V-2.25V...

My HD puts out 5V so is it ok to get this amp? meaning I probably wouldn't touch the gains or it doesn't really matter...just go by the ear?
