Well, my 'fix' for the bulb seems to have worked!!

Won't know for sure until I heat things up - so to speak. Which brings me to a question I've got (and I'm hoping either Umnitza or someone else as knowledgeable can chime in).
I did a tentative 'hook-up' (and I'm posting pics as a reference to what I'm talking about) to see how things will look before I mount my headlights. *Now keep in mind, I've never seen these things up close, and that MY install is a
hybrid of sorts.* One thing I noticed right off, was that there are a number of 'connections' leftover.

^These first two photos show the connections, as well as a closeup of the back of my headlight assembly.

^...and here's the other one.
Of course, since I'm not going to be using my OEM 9004 socket from the car side (will have to cut that out to use the wires properly), and I'm ASSuming that the other end of the socket that would NORMALLY be plugged into the H7 bulb will go into the ballast, what are the red and black wire (with the blade connectors on them) and the leftover socket for??
Based on the 'fitment', it's almost as if I can use that second socket (seen in that last pic) to plug into my other H7 bulb (will be running a dual-bulb setup, as you can see, with both bulbs H7s), as it didn't seem to fit the ballast. And if that's the case, I'm cool with that. I just wanted to be sure before I try to force the aforementioned connector into the ballast and ruin something.
Thoughts, anyone...
