Valve job with (valve seals only) is about $150-$180. Reringing the short block depends on more than just the condition of the cylinder/pistons/crankshaft. Check on the price of a rebuilt short block and use yours as a core. It may save you sometime and money plus comes with a warranty! Overall It's really cheaper! I did alot of extra stuff like for instance deburred the entire interior of the block to remove all casting, flashing and sharp edges that could crack or contain casting sand particles, or slow down the oil returning to the pan! All more little details...but you get my point?
