FS: 98 Nissan Maxima GLE Mods Carbon Fiber!!!! AL
Up for sale is my 1998 Nissan Maxima GLE; first off, I know the car is not an SE-L or a 1999 but I like the look of the SE-L badge in conjunction with the carbon fiber hood/trunk, rims, etc. I purchased the car in September 2007 with 203.5k miles and have since put on about 31.5k (car currently has nearly 235k).
Some notable factory options….
-Power door locks, windows, mirrors, seats
-Sunroof
-Electronic climate control
-Cruise control
-Leather
-Bose stereo
All options function as they should and haven’t given me any trouble. In addition to these options, the car also has COLD A/C.
When I purchased the maxima, it was bone stock minus a cheap ebay FSTB. Since then I have made the following modifications:
-Tein S-tech (15k miles)
-KYB AGX (15k miles)
-Carbon fiber hood (freshly re-cleared)
-Carbon fiber trunk (freshly re-cleared)
-Full Stillen lip kit
-Depo clear/black housing headlights
-Red/clear outer tails (dark tinted inners)
-Llumar 15% tint (professionally done)
-18” MSR 105’s
-225/40/18 Nexen N5000 (brand new)
-Smoked amber bumper lights
-Stillen FSTB
-Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD (plays DVDs, etc.)
-Alpine 500.1 Amp
-2 Kicker 08 Solo Baric L5's in kicker box w/ carbon fiber trim
In addition to these modifications, I also purchased a new set of OEM floor mats for the Maxima ($82 worth).
I am very picky with cars and would not want to mislead anyone. With that in mind, here is a detailed list of all of the imperfections I can think of on the car….
-Scuffs/chips/stress cracks on front lip (pic)
-Minor paint chips (1-2) on sideskirts
-Chipping on drivers side rear piece (pic)
-Paint on kit, front bumper is a shade or two off from rest of car (pic)
-Paint chip on passenger side fender (pic)
-Minor chipping of gunmetal paint on one rim
-Two rock chips in windshield (pic)
-Trunk doesn’t align perfectly
-“Heat shield” sheet metal on underside of hood (previous owner was SC’d)
-Carpet not in excellent condition (most places covered by floormats)
-Couple interior trim pieces worn
-Single cigarette burn in headliner (occurred before my ownership)
-Various minor paint chips on grille, mirrors, front bumper
-Tires have a minor vibration at about 70 mph
-End of antennae broken (still functions properly)
Here is a list of recent maintenance work performed on the maxima….
-Four new rotors
-All new brake pads (front ceramic)
-New radiator
-New (remanufactured) starter
-New driver side CV axle
-New right lower control arm
-Transmission flush
-New tires
Before my ownership, the maxima was involved in a (left) front end collision in GA. The driver’s side fender and front bumper were replaced and painted to match the car. Although the core support/frame were unaffected by the accident, the title was branded “rebuilt”. Even so, the car runs/drives as it should, without notable flaw. I would trust this car enough to drive it on any road trip that I would be willing to make.
Keeping in mind that the car has a rebuilt title, will need new tires in the near future, and has nearly 230k miles, I feel that $4700 is a fair price; if you do not think so, kindly keep your opinions to yourself. I am not making any money whatsoever on this car, and am only selling because I would really like to get into a late model Honda/Acura.
I am an honest and upfront guy and will try to answer your questions to the best of my ability. The car is located in northeast Alabama about 2 hours west of Atlanta if anyone would like to come look. Feel free to call me at (256) 225-7986 or PM me with any questions/concerns.
Thanks,
Mike
