07 maxima new HL bulb not working

Hi, My driver side highbeam went out. I replaced with a new HID bulb (without removing tire and bumper) and still doesn't work. The parking lights and fog lights on the driver side work. I checked the 10A fuses for continuity and they are fine as well. Can you advise what I should do next.

Your high beam has not gone out. If your new bulb is working with the regular beam, then the shutter window in the headlight housing is not working. Thus, no high beam.

Why? It could be several reasons. If your technically capable, then the FSM (chapter LT) will give you direction on how to diagnose it. If your not technically inclined, then take it to a shop.

Could there be an issue with the HID ballast?

Are both low-beams working? If both of the low-beams, then it is not the ballast.

I meant to say HID bulb, not hibeam. The HID light itself doesn't work. The parking light works. I checked continuity on the HID bulb and it works. So, I'm guessing/hoping something wrong with the ballast/ignitor. I removed the bumper and took the entire headlight casing. Will test with new ballast.

Ah, okay. If you can, try the new bulb in the headlight assembly that is working. If the new bulb works, then you know there is "probably" an issue with ballast in the other headlight assembly. The only way to confirm that is to change out the suspected bad ballast with the known good one, though that will some take work.

That is what I would do.

After replacing with new ballast and ignitor, the light works. Either of them could've been the culprit, but it was easier to buy/install them as a set. Glad it's working again. Thanks everyone. Now onto rear sway bar bushing and engine mounts replacement. Don't think I can do them myself. PA inspection is a PIA. Issues change depending on the mechanic you go to.

Congrats on the win.

Two of the engine mounts and the rear sway bar are easy for the DIY. The only issue with the motor mounts is the one under the engine at the back. That's a PITA.

Good luck.

Based on the videos I saw, sway bar bushing and passenger side mount replacement seems doable. Do either of these require to get under the car or bolts can be reached from outside?

Yeah...though it is a bit of work. Pop the wheel out and get in there.

I just put the car on jack stands, with the jack for safety, and took it all apart at once and then reassemble. Probably be worth the $40 for a set of jack stands.
