How to install an oil cooler on a 6thgen Maxima with video

Wassup fellaz. Don't really come on here too much but I would like to share what I've been doing to the max. Just did my an oil cooler on my maxima yesterday and everything went well Because the VQ's are known for oil consumption I think it's a great investment to slow that oil burn down. Here's a very self-explanatory video that should help with the installation if you ever decide to diy.

Isn't the oil burning issue caused when the precats go bad and the blowback causes small pieces to score the walls and such?

I'm really not sure the cause if it. I would assume it's due to oil level neglect causing the piston rings to not be lubricated which is a result to wear. I know the engine cook the oil but I'm not sure as to why. You'll have to Google that.

Here is a brand name, but I'm sure they're cheaper with a no name.

Good video.. Now the question is, do you really need it and is it worth messing with in first place?

With the fact we already have a line from the radiator cooling the oil I would say no. I use the bigger Mobil 1 105 filter and Am soil synthetic. Not sure you can improve on that. Not sure you need that unless you are towing with your Max.

Or racing. Jmax does a lot of that. The VQ's run hot. This mod is suppose to drop the temp by 50 degrees and if it really does that, then I think its worth it.
