Hey guys, need some help here.

I just installed a brand new battery in my 04, and still not getting any power other than the security light blinking. I looked at those huge fuses on the (+) cable. How do I test those? Also, do I have to check those fuses inside that long box next to the battery? What else should I check?

Honestly, from reading this, you probably should not check anything and should get your car towed to nissan, really. I think it's best for you and your safety.

Your fusible link is blown. Happened to me last week. Same exact thing. Even though it looked good, it wasn't.

Thanks. I will replace the fusible link block, and see if that fixes the problem.

I said check your ground, did check your ground before buying something else?

Check battery voltage first....
Check alternator charging voltage.
Then check your ground.
Then mess with the fuse block I guess. At this point I would go to nissan, but thats just me. If the fuses fry, there is a problem somewhere.

Right. I checked the battery, it's showing consistent ~12V. It's good.

I'll next check the alternator, then ground next.

Could this be an immobilizer/security system issue? I recall that on some 4th gens (99's in particular), a no-start condition w/ security light on meant a tow to the dealership for reprogramming.

Ground should be the next check. The alternator only does its job when the car is running.

Probably problem is at ignition switch. Turn on and off high beam, if you got power delivered there, but nowhere else, then circuit at ignition switch is stuck open even when you turn your key. Could be faulty chip in key itself, in which case you would need a brand new key, and have it programmed.
