Cvt tranny fluid

Hey all, stupid question. Have an 07 maxima Se. I want to change the trans fluid. Just a drain and fill. My better judgement says don't fix it if it ain't broke. Don't know if it's ever been done as I bought it used with 80 grand on the ticker. Car has 119,000 now. I keep up on everything else. So to do or not to do. And if I do it can I get the fluid from an auto parts store, or do I have to go to nissan fluid.

Take it to a dealer to have it done. Use only nissan cvt fluid.

The drain and fill method only changes a small portion of the fluid. The dealer will change out all the fluid. I also have a 2007 max.

Well I'm honestly not sure with the CVT. But I know 100% that on regular tranny a drain & fill would not hurt your car one bit and would be beneficial. Again though, not sure on the CVT.

I just gave my Max its first ever drain/fill at 90k miles, did it over several oil changes to get as much fluid out as possible. Make sure you use genuine Nissan tranny fluid and it makes a big difference.

Yeah I was thinking of doing several drain and fills. Nissan will charge a pretty penny or 2

Most of the cost from the dealer is the expensive fluid. I think it was 90 mins labour.

I paid the dealership for servicing the CVT the first time. The sticker shock prompted me to do it myself the second time.

Drained the pan. Measured how much came out and put that much back in. Then i disconnected the outlet hose from the transmission cooler and started the car for a few seconds at a time to push one quart of CVT fluid out then i added a quart. Did that until i got clean fluid out.
