what do u guys think? 05 70k miles for $500

I own a 2000 since new..stillen lip kit for 03, 03 headlights, taillights, front bumper, illumina adjustables, hr springs, cattman cat back exhaust, brake upgrade etc etc...obviously love the car....the 05 is my sis...a tow truck coming down her st lost a wheel and hit it head on hard enough to push into middle of street...dealer says $4700 to fix ..they didn't total but her family is in financial tough time so she is opting to take $4700 and not fix and just share her husbands car...company here in jersey says they will give her 500 to tow away..that's where five comes from..I'm waiting on actual dealer report but I saw the car and the entire front bumper was gone one of the headlights possibly 2 the two fenders and hood. But I know the hood and fenders could be fixed and I know the headlights I can just swap the ballast and ignitor and get new plastic fixtures. The radiator was leaking as well but again all can be done and not buy stock parts and do it a lot cheaper. The reason I know this is because I was in accident with my 2000 that was 3700 worth of work yet I did it for 1100...most of that budget coming from when I needed to have it painted because I have the pearl white. But her 05 is just black. But coil overs would be a must to eliminate that horrible front bumper gap and I would either convert to 2007 front bumper if it can be done? if not i would put an aftermarket as I feel that 05 front bumper now is an eye sore... And of course rims & exhaust. I would bring her back from the grave better than she ever was. Once I get the report I will post and if you experts can step in and tell me if I could realistically fix this thing for a decent price I will take it. excited and hopeful

Post some pictures but as long as the frame is straight I say go for it. One of my buddies bought a Grand Am for $600 with a busted bumper, hood, headlights and radiator support. He replaced everything himself, only has about $1500 in the car and now uses it as his daily driver and it runs great (for a Pontiac). You'd be even better off since the car is worth more once it's fixed. Just be careful going to "cheap" because you'll end up having to fix it again if you don't do it right the first time.

not even a question if it was in my area, I would buy it for $500. Full kit for $700, hood for $500, radiator for $240, paint later if need be. http://www.andysautosport.com/nissan...me_dimensions/ http://www.andysautosport.com/nissan...bon_creations/

If the frame is straight buy it and fix it your self. My 01 GXE got hit at school by a dumb chick and her insurance paid me $3200. I fixed everything myself for $400.

U guys are the best!! Keeping in mind I wanted to swap out the headlights to 07..is it the same hood? Will that work provided I upgrade the front bumper too which intend to do...owned my 2000 from new and changed whole front. ..hardest thing was wireing the new hids but the 05 already has hids so can I just buy 07 outer assembly and swap ballast and igniters from 05s to the projecter 07s? Forgive my ignorance I haven't been able to get to car yet...and still waiting on estimate ...I work a lot..at work now but SOOO EXCITED!!! Thank you guys!

Front end swap on a 6th gen could get expensive though I would think, Wouldn't you need the headlights, fog lights, extend the fogs harness, bumper cover and grill as well as paint ?

But if its all damaged anyway then you will have no choice but to replace the broken pieces.
Hopefully there's nothing underneath like suspension components that will have replaced. Can you post pics of the damage ?

2300 for parts alone ? You should be able to get the parts for less then that. Shop around see what deals you can find

wait so let me get this straight. You are going to pay the $500 to get all the repairs? In the mean time you are looking for all the 07 parts for swap out to include in the repair vice the stock 05 parts?

you could probably reuse your reenforment and the foam. They both look straight from the pics. Sift through that stuff and keep what is good to re use. Your hood and lights are the most expensive parts. The lights on ebay are about 100 less than the dealer. There are a bunch of added things on your lists that can probably be avoided like cleaning up the right wheel, cleaming <--whatever that is and vacuuming the frame, etc.
When I had mine done, I talked with the shop and asked if I got aftermarket components could they work out cost with me. They agreed, I bought the front bumper and grill and paid the difference. You could do the same, get the parts and cheaper, the shop charges the insurance and cuts you a check for the money saved. This way they get paid, and you get some cash out of the deal for saving on parts. That might cover the 500 deductible.

Also yes still have my 2k...this 05 black is my sisters..both cars in pic above were hit while parked..she is getting pilot fixed and getting that check for 4700..Again SHE is...unfortunately her family needs money more than two cars..she found some service that would take the car off dealers lot and pay her 500 to do so. dealer was pretty upset that she wasn't going to fix it turned really nasty against her. said they would charge her storage fees and estimate fees etc etc...well she doesn't have the money for that. enter me. I offered to find the parts for her and fix with the connections I have meaning you guys lol. But sheneed that money now and is behind on some bills. So I was like well then if I cant help you that way then I will give you the 500 for the car and pay your storage fee and the estimate fee and I will pay to have it towed off the lot and to my house. dealer ship are being real ******** about everything in each day it was costing her more n more because she didn't even have money to have it towed off the lot...obviously she hasn't gotten the 4700 yet...anyway so to make a long story short I got her Max with 65k 4 500 plus whatever the repair will be. But then again even if I bought that car from someone else I would not leave the 05 nose on it so that would be a cost I would incure anyway...and when it's all said and done I am going to give her more money as well. It's only right.I wanted her to keep the car and let me help her fix cheap but she said they don't need two so what can I do..my max only has 112k and has been beyond cared for so that's easily a 200k plus car... not sure if I will sell her..may just let her use whenever she might need a second vechicle..def never taking the rims off sorry guys lol

For 500 bucks, I'd buy it post haste. Even if you decided not to keep it, you could part it out for a lot of money.
