Exhaust?

Please let me know what you end up with. Both cats on this car we just got are bad, so I am looking at my options for the future from an exhaust standpoint.

You know how the 6thgen makes that noise with the tensioners man.Besides the engine was cold and so was outside, and the oil probably needs to top up too.I'm installing the light weight pulley probably next week and i'll be replacing the old belts too so that might go away after a good service.

Look out for the mods man. It's coming one day at a time.

I got some Magnaflows, two 14807 mufflers and the 12640 resonator, that I'm planning to install over the weekend. I'm doing it more so for the sound and at $330 it was less than if I was to get the eBay catback and replace the mufflers. I would get custom piping only if I was to get headers/y-pipe first but that's not in my near future and I think the stock pipes are decent enough for now.

What's the resonator's purpose? Do I need to buy one of those to make the exhaust act or sound good?

The resonator is to quiet down the noise but the N1 comes with a resonator so you don't have to worry. It's more the muffler you're going to use will determine how it sounds.

Dude if you change the exhaust make sure you add a resantor to the new set up, the CVT's will give you hella drone, do me a favor and look up maxima exhaust drone, you will see what i mean

It's like a third muffler pretty much, so it's supposed to keep the exhaust quiet. Doing a resonator delete often leads to drone and headache-inducing volume levels but it would also depend on which mufflers you got. But if you just change it to a Magnaflow or Nismo res or whatever you'll get a different tone, more audible exhaust, and less restrictive airflow.
