timing too advanced? cause?

keep getting SES lights for a multitude of things but they all lead to one root: the timing. I cant figure this out and its really getting to me.. 2 of the codes read for variable valve timing actuators...replaced those with new ones...nothing. camshaft position sensors...replaced...nothing. spark plugs replaced..nothing. changed oil...checked all of the wires/connections im going INSANE!!!!

i DO have the timing chain noise on startup issue and a little vtc sproket (i think) rattle around 1500 rpms..and i know a guy whos gonna replace the tensioners for me for cheap...hes done it before. is there ANY chance the timing chain could literally be off?? i didnt think they skipped...but if not any other routes I CAN Take?? thanks in advance...
