Deus joins the Dub Club!!
I have always thought 20's looked great on the Maxima but I didnt like that it affected performance. 20's are heavier than 18's - all else being equal - and I have geared my car towards performance since I track it. However, I dont track it very often. My street/race tires (Falken Azenis) are wearing out and I needed to raise my car a little to clear my "new" RLM bumper.
Sooooooo . . . I decided to go for 20" rims. I have always loved my black and red theme so i needed rims that were black with a red stripe. I thought about buying black rims and striping them myself. I considered carbon fiber rims (the fake ones, not the real CF 5,000 dollar rims). I decided on Gino model 493 rims in a 20x8.5 with 35mm offset and 255 35 20 tires. They are heavy as hell compared to my light 18s. I needed 10mm spacers for the fronts to clear the 300ZX TT calipers. I got some hubcentric 10mm spacers and longer studs. I put some cheapy 5mm spacers on the rear but Im going to remove those.
Anyhow, here they are:
Let me know what you think.

I like the black with the red, goes well with the car but i am not a bigg fan on the design of the wheels. I would of liked to see your car with a staggered set up? Thats just my opinion only. Other than that car is a beast

Ah, I was curious as to your opinion J. I dont like the full red lip on those rims. I have seen them on a Maxima and its a bit too much red. I prefer to thinner red stripe on only the outside of the rim. I was getting some rubbing in the rear so I removed my 5mm spacer back there. Ill drive it and see how it is. Tire size is 255 35 20 and rim is 35mm offset

Hey D, confused why you keep saying the 20's raise the car? my bumper hits just as much with either of my 2 sets of 20s or my stocks. the center of the wheel is the exact same with proper tires keeping the same overall circumference, radius, and diameter.
Regardless looks nice! just don't park too close to me haha.

Check out this excellent tire size calculator: http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCal...bmit&reset=yes

6th gens can definately pull off larger diameter wheels no problem with the correct stance. And I love seeing a well done 6th gen with larger wheels. But IMO, your car flowed better with the 18s. I think its just the design of the 20s you chose that throws it off for me. It has sort of a (dont take this the wrong way) soft look to them when bolted to your 6th gen. While the rest of the car has an agressive approach, as you pan down to the wheels, it throws that whole balance off for me.
But above all that, I understand and respect that your choice for wheels goes beyond just aesthetics. You achieved your goal of raising the car a little to be more careful with the bumper. And as long as you are happy with the end result, congrats and dont let anyone elses opinion sway your own personal opinion. It obviously hasn't so far which enabled you to have a truly unique and impressive maxima. Keep moding!

Thanks!! The wiring to the cornering lights don't seem to have juice. I have my equipment ready to go this weekend to diagnose the problem - power tester and volt meter. When I get them going, I will probably make a new thread regarding LED cornering lights. Keep your fingers crossed.

No problem, definitely looking forward to seeing the new thread! Hopefully you can find enough voltage for them. If the old cornering light connections are dull than maybe you can splice them to the fogs
