Which bolts hold on valve body on 06 maxima?

I know where it is, I can get to it, but I have no idea which bolts of the dozens on the thing that are holding it onto the tranny versus holding the VB itself together.

Anyone got advice , pics or a high powered rifle to put me outta my misery from a distance?

PM to "blacksaleen95" because he had done this by himself. I am not sure if he still visit maxima.org frequently or not. He actually installed transgo kit by himself.

I so much wants to say that remove all bolts with bigger heads to take valve body off from your transmission but I am not 100% sure on this. Take a look at this picture where you can see bolts heads with two different size. I would advise to wait for pros to chime in.

Sreenshots Of Installing And Removing 06 Valve body Mitchell On Demand

I'm a IT person for a lot of companies, and have access to a lot of software's etc, hope this help you as i took the screen-shot from Mitchell on Demand 2010 (its a leading repair manual for thousands of brand name cars), i also had the year of your car selected which is a 2006 Maxima SE. And base from Mitchell on Demand 2010, 04 - 06 maxima's has 6 bolts holding down the valve body as you can see in the figures below:

No Problem

No Problem, trust me Mitchell On Demand, has complete label parts of our transmission, engine, body frame, trouble shooting code chart and just about every detail information you need for our cars and others. So if you guys need anything else let me know and I'll search to see if I can pull it up in the system. And thank you KevMaster for giving me the heads up also on our defective valve body as i would of never thought of replacing it or upgrading in this current progress of rebuilding my transmission...

I have Alldata myself, but they are both just photocopies of the FSM's from the original manufacturer with a few things missing and (for nissans anyways) poor organization. The book hours and tsb's make up for anything missing though. That's pretty sweet you have access to that program, it's over $1k/year

I'll be snapping some pics of this job for people this afternoon & also photocopying the trans-go instructions & maybe a few of my own pictures on that part as well, I'll probably put it in the sticky thread.

I have transo instruction that I received from Christopher on this forum. However that instruction explains the transgo upgrade process in detail but all pictures are very poorly demonstrated in black and white. It's not that bad though but I might have expected much more detailed lay out from transgo in their instruction sheet. As an example transgo instruction does not explain how to remove and install back valve body from/to transmission unit. KRRZ350, please snap more pictures if you have chance and thanks for doing this in advance.

I've been taking very thorough pics all the way through.

To confirm, yes, ALL the 10mm bolts hold the valvebody to trans, all the interbodies are put togethor with 8mm's.

Did you get your cover off? That thing is a major biotch, I had to make a custom tool to get in there for that one bolt near the oil cooler.

OK, Problem found in this valve body!! Small plastic check valve, there's a few of them, one of them was stuck. Unfortunately it wasn't from debris or anything either, it just keeps sticking . Nissan can't get it, valve-body pro's doesn't want to answer there phone, and noone else can get it

I'm in a bind here, anyone have a spare VB I can buy if it comes down to it? I'm going to call around a few more places tomorrow, but this customer is driving a rental so I need to get this VB situation taken care of asap . If you have one please let me know & e-mail me your phone# or text/call me @ 774-766-7462. Thanks, Kevin

Here is the problem with this valve body, interesting to note that the trans-go instructions mention the earlier VB's having these plastic valves & the later ones had the more conventional metal ball/spring type check valves. Looks like Aisan Warner Realized they screwed up.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWnF-JZdPqw

When all is said & done I'll have a nice write-up with tons more pics & maybe more videos if it is warranted. If this trans is smoked & it needs more than a VB I'll be sure to take pics of that as well. I also have some info that anyone getting one rebuilt should bring to there rebuilder.

I will have a spare valve body by next week Tuesday, replacing it with a re-manufacturer valve body because my mechanic don't rebuild valve body's, how ever my location is the Bahamas.

Awesome, hopefully it doesn't come down to waiting that long or I can find one closer, or even better yet I can just find new check valves. Also, they might not let you take that VB back, most re-man vb's have a $150-$200 core charge.

I might be on to something, found this valve body rebuild kit, and it has the crappies picture I've ever seen in my life, but I'm pretty sure I can see the check valves in there, so maybe they have just them available (Crosses fingers) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AW-55...Q5fAccessories

SATXBOX!!!! just read in the other thread that you are getting your trans rebuilt!

DO NOT LET THEM USE THE 3RD GEAR BAND THAT COMES IN THE REBUILD KIT!! THEY MUST REUSE YOUR OLD ONE OR INSTALL A NEW ONE FROM NISSAN!! Hope it's not to late.

He already installed the new parts from the master kit. Only Only thing re-manufactured i'm getting is the valve body. Btw what is the issue with using a the band from the rebuild kit ? I figure when you buy a master kit you install everything that comes in it, to make the tranny much stronger. And yes the transmission is already built, im just waiting on my valve body to reach.

I think your referring to this band right only thing i saw labeled band and it came separate from
Lory Transmission Parts http://transmissionparts.com/ and it was new.

I can't find the other links on here right now, but sonnax also says this, and I read something on the automatic transmission rebuilders site about it as well, but it's right here & I know I've read it elsewhere as well.

Your Right,

DURING REBUILD or OVERHAUL
There are currently 8 versions for this valve body. Make sure you order the right one.

NOTE: Some versions are in short supply which means your valve body will have to be on an R & R basis.

Use a FACTORY 3rd band (Nissan sells it) or if possible, reuse the old one.

I'm sure the one i purchase wasn't a re-manufacturer 3rd band, even though they
look exact same. Also with me not knowing the history of who been in my transmission before i decided to do a complete rebuild, to be safe then sorry.
