i need a advise!!

ok so i got a 08 with 42000 miles. she already start giving me little problems like the clicking sound from the engine. so im thinking of selling her. i got couple mods done to the car. should i go back to stock or leave it as is? will it make any difference with the car lowered?
here the mods i have done
1. headlights (maybe i can trade with someone who has an 07 or 08 headlights and want these)

2. Eibach springs

3. wheel spacers.

4. Nismo CAI

take the car like that or go back to stock?

i dont know about 17 or 18k with a clicking noise from the engine.... more like 12k or 13k with a clicking noise. A clicking while the car is at idle usually means rod knock.... which is caused by low oil pressure during the 40 something thousand miles you had it. If i were you try to find out whats causing it it might not be a huge problem.... if its rod knock your looking at a couple thousand miles (anywhere from 100miles-2000miles depending how hard you drive it) before the engine goes on you.... and i would be really pist if i spent 18k on a car with 40k miles on it and the engine goes...

I could be wrong...but I'm pretty sure the lemon law only applies to NEW vehicles. If you bought it used...you're screwed. There is no full disclosure on a used vehicle.

i think it doesnt matter as long as your powertrain warranty i been driving the car and its doesnt eat engine oil..doesnt make sound on idle or in netural..normal start in the morning only between 1200-1500 and sometimes it doesnt even do it..i been driving the car with windows down to see if its the same..ya it is same i drove the car for 1100 miles n tonight im goin to san diego which it gonna be 600 miles nothing happened last time i took it....wired thing is when its cold or below 85 degrees it doesnt do it nd over 90 degree i does nd over 109degree it does alot..

You should keep the ride since you already put all that work and money into LED mods and everything.

I've got a mild ticking, notice it at idle mostly when the engine cover is off. I didn't think it was anything, I thought these Nissans make that noise regularly. 07 with 36000 miles, and extended warrantee to 100000.

What makes you think this is going to lead to something bad with the motor? I'm not asking to patronize you, I'm curious since I've got a similar sound...

You should keep the car looks really cool,I wouldn't worry about the ticking sound. If you have a extended warranty and the car is still covered under the power train warranty to 60000k don't worry about it if it gets worse before 60000 miles either get it fixed or get rid of it. There are a lot of vehicles out there that have a slight ticking sound and nothing ever happens, A buddy of mine had a ticking sound for his engine compartment and it wound up being a faultily alternator it was replace and the ticking was gone. I would keep it for at least another 10k and see if it gets worse. Do you think its a sticking valve?

New here so i can't start a trhead, but i have a 2004 SE model. Recenlty bought a brand new battery and had some other work done about 2-3 months ago (i.e power steering line had a leak, ABS and Engine light were on constantly so had to get those off and changed some other electrical part related to the braking system). Now in the past few weeks i've noticed my in-dash lights dim for a few seconds while driving. Then on two separate occassions the car wouldn't start. It would crank but not turn over until after a few tries and a couple minutes wait.
Now this morning, as i was sitting in a line of traffic, everything went dead and it shut off. I immediately put it in park and restarted and everything was good again. Over all this time there have been no warning ligts or any other signals (besides the dimming of the in-dash lights) that something was wrong. I'll have my mechanic check it out tomorrow first thing. Should i prepare to buy a new alternator or can the same one be repaired?

Also, there is a grinding/rattling noise upon start up that usually subsides in a few minutes. I was told i need a new tensioner (didnt specify which one). Could this have any effect on the alternator?

Update: Spoke with my mechanic today and he said the alternator is fine and so is the battery, i told him to double check cuz these issues cant be for no reason, any ideas on what to look for?

I realized after posting in this thread, you guys were talking about a tick from the transmission at certain RPM's, I'm talking about the valve ticking under the hood. I mostly only hear it at idle with the hood up, it's more prominent with the engine cover off. I just figured these motors were a litter chattie like that...

Yes, our VQ's tend to be a little on the noisy side.
