competition tire & wheel, 1 (inflated to only half pressure)
2 blankets
2 loose towels
12-volt tire pump
Floor mat protector from some dealership shop
plastic bag containing more plastic bags for keeping the other stuff mostly dry when it can't be in the trunk
small tool kit
jumper cables
2 qts of oil (double-bagged, probably both have been opened)
palm-length leather gloves (2)
old bungee cord (not much stretch left in it)
block of plastic (unknown origin or use)
6" length of 2 x 4
piece of flat plastic with hooks on it
cigarette lighter (never used)

small storage box with the following
lug nuts for competition wheels (20)
21mm x 1/2" drive deep well impact socket
2" x 1/2" drive extension
1/2 x 3/8 square drive adapter
19mm x 3/8" deepwell socket
two pieces of pink chalk in a small plastic bag
two complete sets of wheel locks with keys

Large plastic storage box containing the following
rain suit and hat, heavy-duty, yellow (think Gorton's fisherman)
torque wrench
chest strap for autocross driving
old leather belts (5)
manual tire pump
roll of 1" wide painter's tape
21mm x 1/2" drive socket
extension for 1/2" drive (about 5" long)
roll of paper towels (almost gone)
large claw hammer
old red sock (1)
large heavy duty plastic bag (empty)
tire tool
pouch with screwdriver, spare light bulbs, and fuses
5 or 6 more towels, not all clean
wire coat hanger (mostly straightened out)

The original spare, jack, and extra lug nuts lives in the spare tire well and there might be a few more things hiding down there (didn't look)

Which remends me . . . I'll need to load the trunk back up for the upcoming autocross season with the stuff that came out at the end of last year.

Yup.

It is also mandated by the organization to remove anything loose. So it all gets dumped out on the pavement for the duration of an event.

The rest of the time it doesn't matter, and when I get home I'm way too tired (lazy?) to unload most of it.

Start with post #14.

Take the competition wheel/tire off the list and put two street tires/wheels in its place. Sometimes a third wheel/tire ends up there too, just not today.

Add (one) 2-piece jack handle and a wooden jack pad (so the jack doesn't bend the pinch weld over) to what's in the large box.
The jack itself lives on the rear seat floor so it can't slide around and dent or break stuff. Otherwise, it would be in the trunk as well.

Add six lengths of "2 x 2" pressure treated lumber (about 20" long), used to keep the other stuff hopefully higher than any puddles when it can't be in the trunk and it's raining.
