Exhaust and Y Pipe questions

I've searched and searched and I can not find a site that sells the Cattman Y-Pipe and Nismo Cat Back for my Maxima but I see other maximas in same category with them on.

Where do I buy them from??

I want the y pipe made by Cattman and Nismo cat back for my 2006 Maxima SE. Thanks.

Cattman Performance Fall Exhaust – Clutch/Flywheel - Intake Sale (Cattman Y-Pipe and you can PM him on this site)

Nismo exhaust will be tough to find, you can try ebay. Read this before you purchase the exhaust: http://www.6thgenmaxima.org/forums/v...ighlight=nismo

Thanks man. What's your thoughts on Greddy Spectrum Elite??? Price is not an issue. Just performance wise and sound. I like the G35 sound. I would like to have something that sounds like that but louder.

I'd get a custom exhaust done at a local shop. Do you plan on adding headers in the future?

I personally never heard the Greddy Spectrum Elite in person, but on the 6thgenmaxima PM Ridertuner or H4X1MA. They are the only 2 people I know who has them. But is $700 for an exhaust really worth it? People gotten the ebay exhaust for $198 shipped, Borla, or Magnaflows. You will never get the same exact sound as the G35 regardless what exhaust you get.

I know I wont but I've heard the Greddy Exhaust on Youtube and it sounds similar but you are right, 750+ is a little too much. I can probably get the Cattman Headers, Y pipe and cat back for little more then that, maybe that's what I should do.

If you are going to get headers. stay away from Greddy. I had a Greddy SP2 on my car for a few years, then installed the Cattman headers in the beginning of this year. Raspy as hell, and VERY ricey.

What I ended up doing was cutting out the Greddy resonator and mufflers... I put in a Magnaflow 12640 resonator, and two Vibrant 1148 mufflers in place of the Greddy SP2 cannons. The sound is so much better now.

Here's a before, with headers/y-pipe/Greddy SP2:

And after, with the Magnaflow and Vibrants:

I'd go full custom with 2.5" piping, and whatever mufflers you like... Magnaflow/Vibrant are highly recommended.

Wow! That sounds nice. Exactly the sound I want. You gonna have to pm me with details dude. That sounds good. So you have Cattman Headers, Y pipe and Magnaflow Vibrand mufflers??

So I should leave the stock piping alone and just add 2 vibrants, Magnaflow resonator, Cattman y pipe and Cattman headers?? Is our factory pipe 2.5?

I think our factory piping is 2.25"... someone correct me if I'm wrong. I had the full Greddy SP2 installed years ago when it first came out for the 6th Gen. Then I added the Cattman y-pipe (without a catalytic converter). The sound was great. But once I installed the headers, the rasp was terrible. At first I didn't mind, but after a few months, it just got more noticeable, and I had to do something about it. So I had the Greddy resonator cut out, and I replaced it with a Magnaflow 12640 resonator... and then I replaced the Greddy mufflers with a pair of flat black Vibrant 1148s.

What I would do if I were you... find a local muffler shop that you feel you can trust, and have them fab up some 2.5" piping from the y-pipe back... they can measure whatever resonator/mufflers you decide to go with to get a good fitment, etc.

What would somthing like that cost if I bring the Resonator and mufflers and have them fab up the pipe and stuff. Not an exact price but ball park figure.

Not really sure... Depends on what materials they use too... but it would be cheaper than buying a full bolt-on system.

Including the Magnaflow/Vibrants... which would run $280-300ish, I'd be prepared to pay 6-700 total.
