ABS Issues

About two weeks ago I replaced all four tires on my car and while driving home the abs started to make noise like I was skidding and it was trying to do it's thing. It happened for about two days and then went away for the last week and a half or so.
I took my car out today and when I went to stop the abs braking started to act up. It was making all kinds of noise like I was on ice.
It is doing it most of the time when I brake now and it was even doing it a bit when I was driving and not on the brake pedal.
The ABS light is not on and I have yet to see it.
Does anyone have any idea what I should be looking for, I'm afraid of the stealership...
It's an 05 Maxima SE

GO TO THE DEALER NOW!!!...IF YOU SEE THE ABS LIGHTS COME ON YOU'RE ****ED!

...They will clean the sensors, do not mess around/wait with this problem, it will only get worse.

Do a search and you can see what will happen if you don't take care of it now...ie $$$$$$

I had some problems as well. Mine was somewhat weird. The ABS motor would start when I brake sometimes for no reason. I went to the dealership since it was on extended warranty and hooked up the ECU monitor to it. Turns on while I was physically braking the car didn't see it as braking therefor though I was skidding and turned on the abs. The fix was remounting the stop lamp assembly located near your brake. Does this happen even when your on normal road?

I just had mine fixed about two weeks ago. Sounds the same. Both rear wheel sensors replaced ( $300. each and 5 hrs. labour )Caps had corroded, and sensors corroded as well. Modulator pump was OK. Service mgr. said since it was only happening for a short time, pump should be OK, but couldn't test till new sensors were installed. Friend spent $3500. as pump was shot ( $1600.00 for pump)

There's tons of threads on this and a actual TSB (not to be confused with recall). The passenger side rear hub allows water to get in and basically rust the rust flakes of in the hub and gives sensor a faulty reading causing abs to engage (sometimes damaging the abs sensor or worse depending on how long b4 repair). Many dealers in the past weren't even aware of the TSB. Basically they remove the wheel and hub, clean off hub (or replace), and grind out a notch (near bottom) then replace the plastic piece on hub backside and either clean or replace abs sensor. People have been charged ridiculous prices to change a lot of parts which never needed to be changed because under-informed techs didn't know what the problem was or how to fix it.

If your mechanically inclined with a few basic tools and some time you can fix this yourself as I did (@2 hours). Sorry forgot where the link to the tsb is. My only prob was I didn't or was too chicken-**** to notch the hub and after 2 years problem is starting to come back, but its rare and too cold to fix now. I also never changed the abs sensor or anything else. When it warms up in the spring I'll fix it as it rarely happens.
