How much does it cost to have the heat shield repaired?

I am tired of the rattling and vibration I am hearing during acceleration. My 05 max only has 37k miles on it so I am hoping it is the heat shield and not the timing chain. If it is the heat shield, how much does it cost to repair/replace? I do not want to simply remove it as it is there for a reason. Your thoughts?

My thoughts are take it to a local mechanic and see or jack it up and take a look at it yourself. hmm

Just rip it off. It's useless.

If you insist on keeping it, DO NOT TAKE IT TO A MECHANIC. All they are going to do is put a large hose clamp around it. You can do this yourself for much cheaper.

Is this usually the rear or front heat shield that is the problem?
