I am wondering if you guys are interested in an aluminum radiator for your car. Aside from good looks, they generally are lighter and are about 30% more efficient in cooling than their brass/copper/plastic counterparts. They cost more, but last waaaaaaay longer since the parts are welded instead of brazed or epoxied. My son's Tiburon radiator literally came apart a couple months ago and its a typical OEM radiator.
If you live in warmer climates, drive up hills espically with AC on, tow, or have turbo (Chern!!), then this might help out with cooling. I imagine there may be a performance gain by having a cooler engine. Thoughts?
hey mark, sure you know i'd be interested, if it fits/works for my 07. how much we talkin? i'll start saving up for it if it is a good deal, plus i'm saving up for a set of remus mufflers so get back to me asap.
Price is unknown. If you look at the price of other Mishimoto brand radiators, you may be able to estimate what the cost of ours will be. I think if people remember that a cooler motor is a longer lasting motor they will spend an extra $100 or so for an all aluminum radiator.
Not too sure about these, but they were the only ones I could find...

Mishimoto is making one for our car and the prototype is in Japan right now for production. The estimated time for a procution model is 2-3 months and that was a month ago. I saw the prototype. Its an all aluminum radiator and it looks gorgeous.

for all those guys that are saying they are down you do know that high performance all aluminum radiators can cost up to 600 right?

Bought one for my 96 pathfinder for 125 about 6 months ago. So 400-600 is probably a good estimate. Maybe we can get a group buy and reduce the price a bit.
i saw a couple people ask if the alum core plastic tanks are the same and the answer is no. I am the manager of 3 radiator shops, just to clear a couple things up alum radiators are decent they do have better performance but you cant bring them to any radiator shop to fix. also some alum radiators do have epoxy on the headers and when they start leaking you just re epoxy them which is called "running a header" the best radiator you can have in you car is a all metal copper brass. Row's also can make a big difference generally car radiators are 1-2 rows with bigger tubes. So if someone were to make a copper brass 3 row med. size tubs you would have the best of both worlds and the best performance/cooling.. My shop can custom make anything if anyone would acually be intrested in spending some $$ i can order a stock maxima radiator any year and see if i can make something up..
Forgot a couple things, the reason not any radiator shop can fix the alum radiators is most radiator shops dont alum weld which is what would be needed for one of those type radiators.. last thing some alum radiators will last forever but i have seen myself day in and day out alum radiators leaking faster then plasic radiators.. If your car has alot of vibrations like solid mounts or anything that would cause the radiator to vibrate alot it will spring a leak it has to be in the vehicle VERY secure.
Its hard to imagine a solid aluminum radiator having leaks, especially if its well-made. If you use distilled water with coolant the radiator most likely will not plug up. I would not foresee a radiator like this ever needing repair, except if got damaged.

People ususally love alum radiators, cooling and performance are always boosted. The cooling side will help you at least 20 percent. The one i shipped out today for a spec v was 11.5 lbs. The best part is there is a lifetime limited warranty.
Also depending on how many are ordered i can get the price's down. Starting at right around 200ish.. I can check a little more into it tomorrow when im at work. I can prolly get em down to 130-140 shipped if not less. if i got a **** ton of people wanting these
the price's i put in up top are what i can get my spec v radiators down to if say a bunch of people ordered them, They are 1 row radiator's but dont let that fool you. if you look at the koyo performance unit they are 2 row units but the row's are small. I found that the 1 row HUGE tube unit's tend to cool alot better then a 2 row small tube unit. The price's for maxima radiators should be about the same. And i should be able to get them done for any year. so if we did like gd type of thing the amount the it takes to make the price go down would be for any year maxima. Hope this helps guys. If anyone is intresed in one let me know your year maxima and ill take some pictures in a day or two when i get it.

its called fatigue.. just like the man said.. if its not held down securely, vibrations can become your enemy..
but other than that performance should be great! very interested in this.. we should get a list going on this.. i for one know someone who will be needing one in the near future so the sooner these things get into production the better.. im assuming the wall thickness would allow for a boosted application?

ya, performance should be good. im gonna order a 07 stock radiator monday morning to see what kinda things i can do. As far as wall thickness, the thiicker i go the price's tend to go up. Let me see what i can do for you guys and ill post results on monday morning when i get to the shop.
But if ur stock radiator's hold up on boost all alum will hold up the same. The plastic tanks are usually what crack's on stock radiators with metal in place of the plastic, tanks cracking usually isnt an issue anymore. And as long as the radiator doesnt fail due to your cooling system, thermostat, rust etc.. i can warranty it.
just got my mishimoto radiator in i paid $240 on amazon i also got blue hoses and a tranny cooler the top plastic end tank cracked on my stock. My alliminum radiator that i just got in is very well built it weights adount 30lb does anybody have any pic of there tranny cooler i need ideas on how to install and where to mount
I would suggest asking your question in the correct gen forum. This thread was made for the 6th gen because they don't currently offer an aftermarket radiator for our car.
