The Latin phrase "deus ex machina" comes to English usage from Horace's Arcs Poetica, where he instructs poets that they must never resort to a god from the machine to solve their plots.

God from the machine = Maxima

Am I Right????
You are correct. I think someone else got it right too. Some people incorrectly call me "Dues" which is why some thought it meant "Deuce" as in the word "double.' But it is actually "Deus" which is pronounced "Dayus" which you correctly defined. It is a play on words of the literary term Deus Ex Machina but substituting Maxima for Machina.

There are some very interesting names on here. Some of you stated that your name is from high school but didnt indicate what it exactly meant.

Leet: Very interesting name.

Find Nismo: Similarly, a play on words for finding Nemo, which is also interesting and funny. Great responses guys. Keep em comin.

ok I'll play your silly little game. Po8pimp- used to be PoPimp82
Popimp-song name by "Do or Die" Ride in the backseat of my caddy song.
82-Birth year.

Had to change it to Po8Pimp because some A$$hole hacked my yahoo account and basically destroyed my name in the process. Think it might have been my ex. So Po8Pimp was the next best thing.
Po8=Poet
Pimp=me
so sum it all up I am the Poetic Pimp aka Po8Pimp

Now I'm dating myself here...
Most people think I live in Hawaii...I wish...I live in NE Ohio
There used to be an old police TV series called "Hawaii 5 Oh", I also used to have a 92 Mustang GT, prior to my Maxima (fox-body's were referred to as 5-Oh)...
Lastly, I am the po-po (hence the reference to the old police TV series...we are also "affectionately" referred to as 5-Oh)
I had to add the 1 before my name because something I was signing up for when I started using that screen name required that your name start with a number.

na its what we say when someone has something thats obviosly catchy, that we want to partake in, but don't want the person who started it to know how great of idea it was.

Petit Frere is a french phrease meaning "Younger Brother".

Maxima refers to my 08 Maxima.

I am from a country where we speak French as the first language and English as second, hence the french phrase.

My Younger Brother has always been fascinated with me and how fast I drive, when I started driving at the age of 14 and he would always want to be in the car to take risks with me. I have never known how to drive slow. And he has always been excited when I shift from 4 to 5 and turn my blinkers on to beat cars on the freeway.

So, whenever I am driving, though he currently does not live with me, I still feel his presence in the car for I GO FAST ALL THE TIME!

I drive my 08 VQ as a stick and I like the 5th to 6th gear shift by me! Or the down shift by me for IMMEDIATE overtaking power!

Nothing fancy, just my real first name. If I had my Maxima when I joined, I might have picked a clever moniker, but alas, I'm still waiting on it--two more weeks at the most.

I hope for everyones sake you use judgement when your drive like an idiot. Driving "fast" and cutting cars off doesnt prove that you can drive, and it doesnt prove that your car is better then anyone else. Honestly, i would of kept that to myself if I was you.

You may drive like a Formular 1 race car driver however it's the other drivers you need to worry about. No street racing on Maxima.org and we do not support anyone who does, those are just the rules here! Hope your younger brother doesn't follow your bad example in life, who knows how many times you may have risked his life. It's all fun and games till the jaws of life are cutting you out of your car and the sounds of the crying, screaming, bleeding, are heard. Grow up, someones always faster and their is no such thing as well at least I'm more dead than he is!!!

Tresboi is a play on the nickname my grandfather had for me, Trey boy. Being a third generation (3rd gen Maxima as well as 3rd gen of my name), I opted for tres (means three) and boi as a throwback to my younger punk days (Oi!).

Leet, a little more background on your name. It was a code started by guys who used to hack IBM mainframes via (D)ARPANET or Bell phone services back in the 70's. They needed a way to communicate without the Fed being able to intercept and decode, so they came up with a code that emulated ASCII or raw code jibberish. Now it is mainly used by kids on AIM or XBOX Live who have no idea where it really came from, it just makes them feel like 4 /ˈhæksɔr/. LOL the 1334 wikipedia article doesn't go nearly far enough back on the subject, as it starts with the BBS in the 80's.

I think it is wrong for you to word it like that. If there is anything I have learnt about driving, YOU HAVE TO BE SAFE AT LL TIMES. And I am a safe driver.

When I need the speed to get on the freeway or to overtake someone fast enough not to hold traffic, I like the power my car gives me. Nothing crazy. No matter what kind of car you are driving, PRUDENCE AND SOUND JUDGEMENT IS WHAT EVERY DRIVER SHOULD EXERCISE. And I drive safe and sound. I just like how fast my car can pickup, so there is nothing crazy here and you do not be soo judgmental.

Always be safe driving.

I don't care whatever who drives. But if you look at my car, you will see it is 100% stock. No mods at all. So, I do not street race, at all! I just enjoy the get up and go power of my car. And I have always been a prudent and safe driver and that is how I will always be. Maybe a modified car like yours enjoys racing, not me.

A car is is good to drive and jus cruise, but maybe you do not know, it is the greatest risk we take every single day of our lives when we get behind the wheel. At 60mph or 70mph, a car is a deadly weapon! And that is the speed limit! If you loose control, get a blowout or get hit by a reckless driver, you run the chance of being history.

Drive safe and remember whenever you are driving, you are not driving for yourself, but for everyone on the streets. For you can cause a chain reaction if you loose control of your or you can be part of a chain reaction started by someone else.

SO BE PRUDENT AND DRIVE SAFELY AT ALL TIMES. That is my motto.

It's all fun and games till the jaws of life are cutting you out of your car and the sounds of the crying, screaming, bleeding, are heard. Grow up, someones always faster and their is no such thing as well at least I'm more dead than he is!!!

I knew I had seen your ride somewhere. My ride..., no mod, hence cannot go that fast or do anything spectacular. Your ride..., HOT. TURBO!!! Anybody with a turbo in their car should be a VERY FAST DRIVER and would like to test that out and show-off all the time. How do I know you are a fast driver and take risks, YOUR FRIEND IN THE YOU TUBE VIDEO BELOW SAYS IT..., and I quote....

"I couldn't keep up with him".

So, who is a fast driver? I think you are! I know this is your car. Watch and enjoy. I do like your car. BUT YOU DRIVE TOO FAST!!! Slowdown.
