Revolution Rotors? I am loving this price, but what's your thoughts?

Yes I know, another rotor thread LOL sorry.
Ok, I know brembo blanks, ebc, rotora and other hi-dolla ones are good, but I am broke.
I priced R1 concepts and I like the looks on those things, but I am still looking at other options.
Anyone know if these are any good? Or have heard of them on other applications?
I mean 153 for all four rotors and pads? Are f-ing kidding me??
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-05...Q5fAccessories

I am currently changing all rotors and pads on my 06 Sonata, and I want to do the same with my Max.

Well, I am a believer in that you get what you pay for. They are pretty cheap...$160 for rotors, plus pads, front and rear.... I don't know, man. Hopefully someone on this forum has used them and can give you some insight in to them and their quality.

Meh... Cross-drilled and unknown? I'd stay away, honestly.

Its not worth cheaping out on something as important as your brakes.

You'll probably get what you pay for. My advice is... you need the brakes to stop the car, so get something that you know that will perform instead of just for the look. Cheap pads = noise and weak stop power. Cheap rotor especially drilled = crack.

The bad:
The name of the store, Revolution Autosports, doesn't even have a real website. Hence, I believe that the pic of the large warehouse of parts is not theirs. There are a butt-load of holes too, perhaps too many. The break pad are also non-brand as far as I can tell. They only have a 99 day warranty against warping/cracking.

The good:
The holes are chamfered which is a good sign. They have a high seller rating on ebay.

I can feel your pain at not wanting to spend $300+ on brembo rotors and hawk pads, but it's a gamble to go with these guys. If you do decide to use them, let us know how it goes. We can learn from your experience.

I personally have HAWK HPS semi metallic pads and I love em. They dont make any noise..... I live in a cold climate and I've heard about the "no brakes in cold water when cold" or whatever, never experienced this.

The only thing that differs from OEM imo is :

1- they bite more when hot. They brake the same when cold. The first 2-3 stops reqire more brake presure, after that they brake really well.

2- a bit more dust

I think next time I'll go ceramic just for the dust and the fact that there is not much of a braking improvement to justify that annoying dust. Of course I dont race. Just some hard braking, and they do fine with that though.

thank you everyone for the prompt reply. I sense the majority opinion is a no go. I do not autocross and I don't really race so this is one of the reasons why I am even looking at lower end products.

Thanks for the group deal link.

I am in the process of putting irotors all around and ceranmic break pads. Shipped was 287. If they perform well, I may go this route with the max, because around 250-300 is really my price range for everything, pads and rotors.

But I am still looking. Thanks for the group deal link! That RTP cross drilled and slotted for $166 is catching my eye! So when it's in the Brembo/RTP section, are those the same company essentially or totally different ones?

The problem with feedback on ebay with product like this is that it is liable to be a while before the product goes to crap on you and its too late to change your feedback from your initial reaction to a product. Not to discourage you from buying these rotors but I would not base my descision on just the feedback. Just my 2 cents

lol i mean i doubt they are brembo quality, but they cant be that far worse than my oem blanks, which warps every 3,000 miles.

Ebc is no good? interesting. I thought i heard they're pretty good? Haven't tried them so I wouldn't know.
A tech guy in Buda Texas that does alot of brake work told me their dimpled rotors are actually pretty good quality
but lke i said, haven't tried them

Hello... New to this forum (07 maxima)

Anyways saw this thread and wanted to say I am currently using these in my rear wheels...2000 miles and so far no warping...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...3AIID&viewitem=

So far so good I know brakes work well...driving on the i-95 a mustang got totalled causing all traffic to go from 70+ to 0 in less then a minute.

My experience with EBC slotted and dimpled rotors was aweful. We were trouble shooting a shimmy the day we installed them. We dialed the width of the EBC rotors and concluded that they were 6 mm thicker than the OE causing the caliper/pads to rest on the rotor more so than the OE rotors. I ended up with a bad case of rotor run off from the pads kissing the rotor in one spot. I would suggest a caliper upgrade if you plan on EBC rotors.

RotorPros, I read, has a good product for a nice price. I plan on going this direction in a few weeks since I went back to OE 6 months ago.

Any 6th gen owner have the R1 concepts premium rotors installed on their vehicles? I am curious to see what it looks like behind the wheels.

I went with Rotorpros drilled & slotted with "premium low dust pads" $250 shipped. I love'em. Great stopping power and zero dust.

don't do it. 97% is not a good rating with less than 1000 sales. i will only purchase from power sellers with 98% or better.
