Tranny sometimes slamming on kickdown, how much is enough for replacement?
My tranny has been slamming, sometimes, on downshift when I floor the pedal, or sometimes 3-2 or 2-1. It's not all the time, but still. There are metal bits in the fluid. I know it's going to fail and I want it replaced under warranty.
Last time they said it wasnt bad enough. Uh.
How bad is bad ebough? Warranty until 120 000km or 7 years. (so I still have 40 000km to go and 2 years).

Now. If you take it in now with flakes they will replace the tranny. Don't let them not replace it. If they do end up refusing to do it, ask for a sample collected by them in a vile put in a sealed envelope or similar with a tamper proof seal signed by the Service Department Manager. This way if it seizes up on the highway and causes a multicar pileup, you will have the proof needed to OWN NISSAN. Once you own nissan, please do voluntary recalls of all the $hit that is wrong with this car for the next 10 years please.

My transmission used to slam on downshifts when I bought the car with 48,000 miles. Now at 80,000 miles it doesn't do it anymore. It actually stopped for the most part around 55,000. I have no idea what this could have been attributed to, but the fluid was recently changed at 75,000 and the techs never said anything about metal shavings. I would personally drive it until it failed completely.
How long have you had the car? Apparently an older woman had my car before me, and I'm thinking the cars computer had readjust to the new owner(me) who was probably much harder on the car in general.

computer self adjusting
Hey, that brings Me to this question. I live in Ky. and our seasons are so eratic, in march We can easily go from 75 degrees one day to 20 degrees and pouring the snow the next day. What kind of negative effects is this having on the computer? I notice sometimes during these drastic changes the car seems to have a rough idle and just a slight lack of performance, but is this ever gonna confuse the computer to the point it malfunctions?
