i was always wondering...is there a way that we can use like a g37's navi disc on a 2005 maxima? is there a way to bypass it so it plays the g37 or 35 navi dvd?
I just received a notice in the mail for me to upgrade the navigation system in my 2007 maxima so I went and checked everything out because they were offering free shipping and I see the CD is $190.00 so free shipping is pretty ridiculous to offer when you are talking almost $200.00.
Got my new nav disc in the mail...how do I install it ? There are 2 discs.
Cant seem to find instructions on the forums
Eject the old Navigation DVD from the DVD drive located behind the lower stowage compartment just in front of the stick shift. There is a small cover that is removable inside that you have to pull out to see the DVD drive. Eject the old Map DVD, Insert the new and follow the onscreen instructions!!!
Im wondering if its possible to add the navigation screen and system to a maxima that did not come with the factory navigation. . Im debating whether to buy a automatic 2005 maxima about 20 hours away from me, with navigation or a 2005 6spd maxima right next door from me without navigation. . they are both fully loaded with leather. . I want the navigation. . But I really want the manual trans. . can anyone help? ? can I add the stock navigation screen and system to a 2005 Maxima that was not equipped. . thanks . .

This question has been asked before and when the money math was all said and done it's easier to buy a pretty nice aftermarket system and I'm hoping other members will post pictures of their aftermarket systems which look pretty SWEET!!! Jsmith, show your sh*t!!!

My new Gps Custom install DIY 4 >$200 Here is what I did since I didn't have stock Nav and didn't want to spend 2500 on a new system install. I like this setup because I don't need to ever purchase a new dvd or pay a fee for updates. This has been installed and working great for me for about 3 months now. I highly recommend this setup for anyone wanting Navigation for cheap and IMO better than stock. Advantages over stock Nav are:
1. can use while driving
2. can add any aux input.
3. can play the game it comes with while waiting in line at Mc D's.
4. can put movies on SD card if you want and or music.
5. can customize the Navigation screen look (ex. backgrounds and loading screen)
6. can add poi's and keep/get rid of ones you want/don't.
7. it's just simply amazing what this thing does.
All of these statements are only correct when you get rid of the P.O.S. software that the Plenio comes with and add OCN8. Any questions just ask.
Does anyone have any step by step instructions for removing the old dvd? I can't seem to get to the dvd drive.
LOL, The NAVI users manual states how, but if you don't have one open the compartment that is directly in front of the shift knob. There is a removable wall inside that you can pull out and you will see the DVD drive inside. The last part is the trickiest, Press the eject button!!!
lol thanks the 2007 maxima didn't come with a navigation manual but I found the 2008 manual and it had the instructions.. I had been fiddling with it for a while but didn't realize I needed a screwdriver to pop it off. Thanks
No one has posted a reply to CAn a copy dvd work in the navigation system. I have a 2007 and I am curious does anyone know for sure if copys work. If copys work you can get a copy for 25 dollars. Check the link below. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Infin...spagenameZWDVW

No one has come up with the answer can the 2007 maxima play a copy dvd for the navigation. Can someone with full privelages start a thread about that?
I bought Kenwood Navi since it has my region map. I tried to update the maps using the SD card but it gave me that Maps are locked!!!! And I think you will need to do some programing works to update your maps!!
After reading this I was curious to what version my 05 SL is running...The disc in the car is v6.3 When an update disc is installed, does it change the apperance & options? or just the POI's and roads???
Yes "backup" copies work. I'm running the 6.7 (04 and 05) and I made a 7.4 (06 and 07 I believe) for another member; both of which have successfully worked.
The 6.7 will not run without the software upgrade from 6.4
As for what's different; new roads and POIs. Your interface will remain the same.
I would like to purchase the latest release nav disk.. is the 6.7 still the most current and can you tell me where I can purchase this? And will it work for my 2004?

I just installed my updated DVD 7.4 in my 2008 Maxima and I say where it was said once you install it (thanks to your help telling someone where) you should follow the on screen prompts? I didn't get any on screen prompts and all my old addresses are still in the system. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to do something different or what? I had version 7.3 and now updated to 7.4 by the way don't buy it from the dealer it cost me $100 more than the dvd maker charges. Help please.
I have the 7.3 NAV. System DVD/CD from my 2008 Nissan Maxima that I just replaced with the new latest version 7.4. If anyone is interested in upgrading to the 7.3 make me a offer.
I have a NAV DVD/CD for a 2009 Nissan Maxima that I just replaced with the latest version 7.4 if anyone is interested in a cheaper upgrade make me an offer.
first of all the 7.4 upgrade costs a minimum of $250.00 and from dealers closer to $350.00. I am selling the 7.3 DVD from my 2008 Maxima that I replaced with the 7.4 and sorry even the 7.3 wouldnt sell for $20.

I was kidding... i know its expensive... i just wanted to know if you were selling the 7.4 or 7.3. i have the 7.3.
and as for the difference on 7.3 and 7.4, its just that more locations are updated into the system. more streets, more destinations. There is a mall by my house that was just finished about 2-3 years ago and it is not on my 7.3, but im sure its on the 7.4.
