Just bought my 06 SE 6speed from a board member. Paid in full. I only buy cars that I don't have to finance...unless I can get a 0%-2.99% rate.

Did any of you guys opt for financing with the lowest possible payment, or go for the chance to pay off your car faster?

This reminds me of when I first bought my house 4 years ago. I will never forget my neighbor telling me to look around, because every one on our block paid alot different prices for the same house. He had been there for 10 years and bought when the development was being started. The neighbor to his right literally paid double what he had, and their sq. footage was the same.

Same thing can be said about cars. For a 2006 se you see on the road that is free and clear, you will see one where some one is paying 20% interest on

Traded up a 2003 Mazda Protege5 for my 04 last April and had it paid off within 6 months. I asked for a 1 year loan and they told me the shortest they had was 3 year. So I was doing $2k/month payments and paid it off quickly. I hate debt...now if my house was only paid off I'd be debt free.

So I guess I'll take the 1st prize here, so it was leased with no real intention on keeping it, 36 months at 500 ended up putting way to many miles on it and I just decided to buy it out, so now I'm making payments for 66 months at 500 a month

With leaving my job, and not having the income I use to have I had no choice, but school and the career I want will be worth it down the road

$591 month @ 1.9% x 60. I rolled $3k on top from my trade and put zero down. I'll borrow their money at 1.9% vs spending my own thank you very much.

I could never understand why someone would put a large down payment on a low interest auto loan, sub 3%???

theres alot of 6 and 7 year loans for not only maximas but the more expensive cars. My friends is a F&I manager at a toyota/lexus dealership and people get 84 month loans all the time lol

that makes no sense.... the reason for a 6-7 year loans are to make the monthly payments more affordable for people. If you cant afford a 4 yr loan, then go for the longer payment plan in order to reduce your monthly payment.

I paid 29,000 in 2003 for my 2004 and paid cash and trade in for it. I used money from my bonus when I retired to pay for it.

car payments suck from a 400 dollar car note when i had a scion tC
