Don't forget to change the in-cabin filter...

Haven't changed mine in over a year. Decided to change it out today. Quite suprised how dirty it got! This is the 3rd cabin filter change for my max.

Yeah, I change my every Dec....get the fresh winter air in the da whip.

If you are constantly washing your engine, then there is a good chance your cabin-filter is FUBAR!

i know the fresh air is drawn through the vents on the outside near the windshield. not sure where air is drawn in from in the cabin though. i assume it's around the glove compartment area. the filter sits right above the blower fan.

also, it's much cheaper to get the filter from advance auto parts instead from the dealer. iirc the dealer charged 30-40. i only paid 12 bucks plus tax at advance auto.

The difference in price is your California state tax...

Oh and the maintenance manual states every 20K miles unless you live in dust or smogville!!!

I just pull the 2 pins on the bottom of the glove box. Then the glove box should just fall down. Its then just a couple of clips if I recall.

I change mine every year, usually around the same time I do my annual oil change.

Noooooooooooooooooo, it's easier to empty the glove box,
- close
- slide the 2 plastic pins out that are located under the glove box on the hing.
- open and you should have enough play you turn the glovebox in a 40-45 degree angle to get it out of the tracks and let it hang down on the wire.
- Look straight ahead where the glovebox was and you will see a rectangular access cover with 2 clips.
- Using a small flat tip screwdriver, unhook the clips
- Remove filter
- Verify proper direction and install new filter.
- reverse procedure to close everything back up!!!

This thread suddently changed to "post up your dirty cabin filter pics." I'm glad this thread reminded you fellas to change it.

FastMax05, I don't have a link but I just saw the price when the dude behind the counter rung me up. 20 bucks is still cheaper than what the dealer will charge.
