*VIDEO* Cattman Y pipe & Nismo Exhaust on the street

My eleven year old took the vids so don’t give any &$% on the quality

There has been some request for Nismo exhaust vids, NOT sitting in a garage ect. So we took a quick couple of passes.

Here they are:

First pass was a low rpm pass, that helps keeps the Fujita out of it so we can try and focus on the exhaust.

2nd pass was a little more throttle, from first gear.

3rd pass I tried to keep the rpms under 3k but still do some acceleration.

4th pass was all out so there was a blend of tires/exhaust/Fujita.

5th pass from behind, slow roll to acceleration above 4k rpms.

All my mods are listed in the signature.

You should buy an intake and your car will sound just like mine then.

Intake sound doesn't really kick in until you punch it and rpms rise past 4k. It's video on a computer, not real easy to reproduce the sound quality of real life. Sounds sweet hooked up to my TV.

You can tell the sound right before the shift is CAI, low speed, then acceleration and no shift is exhaust. That's why you I cut off the gas so abrublty on some of the runs. 1st, 3rd and 5th pass show this more than the 2nd and 4th.

Other exhausts:
SP2 has actually lost HP for people.
The Cattman will add HP and be louder plus you can retain dual tips on each muffler, I do miss that.

Does it sound good in real life............darn straight.
Would I do it again, in a heartbeat.
We have some nice options as far as exhaust go, you all gotta do what you think is best.
Here are some rear ends (hope the fellas don't mind)

STOCK

CATTMAN CREDIT: DUES.....AND THEN THE .................................................. .............................................GREDD Y SP2 CREDIT: ALLBLACKMAX

NISMO

I see you listing the Cattman B pipe as a future mod...why not just get the whole Cattman catback? Honestly though I would start with the Y-pipe, get that first, then the catback stuff. Or if you can pull it off get them both at the same time.

That's a great setup, but it was really all intake I heard. It sounds exactly like my setup and I have: fujita intake, cattman y-pipe, stock resonator and b-pipe, and magnaflow 14816 mufflers.

Sounds nice but I will stay with my sewer pipes. I can't buy the y-pipe because my hot shot headers has its own y-pipe.

When are the headers coming out?

True but you still have an aftermarket Y. I've seen the Hotshot Y, it's still better than stock

Have you been to the track this year with your Nitros?

Thanks, I've since added headers which actually didn't make it sound better. The Nismo Cattback is very hard to find now days but highly recommended if you can find one. (Anywhere!)

Nismo Exhasut is pretty easy to find but its too pricey. For that much I'll just get Greddy.

Looking good Deus! I did love the dual tip look too though. You plan on hanging onto it for a while?

I see the Greddy out there for over a $1000
Nismo for like $850

Ebay catback is way less $$$. Getting a true Nismo is almost like buying from the dealer, it costs more. I grabbed mine in a group buy. I've also seen some posts about build quality issues with the Ebay but I've never had first hand experience with them.

Not endorsing necessarily just showing what you get for your $$ This is why I posted a vid with passes on the street.

One thing I don't like about the Ebay catback is where the muffler tips are placed, too far in. See post #9

Is that worth $500, probably not.

No problem man. Surprised that the headers didn't help with the sound. But, at least it added a little something to performance. Appreciate the recommendation. It does fit well with a 6th gen.

I cant believe its been like 7 years since I first started on here and checking out this car of yours Deus. I just traded in the max but this place is still fun to me. I like the one tailpipe, something ive never seen. Less is more.

Your exhaust sounds great! I put a Magnaflow exhaust on my '04, and it created a lot of interior resonance. Thanks to Ebay, I found a copycat Dynomat material, and lined the whole trunk, rear fenders, insides of all doors, and under carpets. I now have a quiet interior, w/ an awesome exhaust tone...best of both worlds. The stuff I bought cost $140 for 100 sqft. Dynomat would have cost at least $500
