removing pinstripe/maxima stickers on side of '08
Hey everyone,
Just curious... If I wanted to remove these (along w/ the dealership name on the back)... whats the best way to do it? Will they peel off relatively easy? Probably not. What should be used to get off the residue?

you can buy a 3m eraser wheel it fits on the end of a cordless drill and can be bought from most parts trucks (snap on or mac) or do the peel method followed with 3m adhesive remover followed with a nice coat of wax either way

I peeled mine off and had major residue.... I have an 05 Max so it was on for 2 years.... so the sticker was old...
i guess it all depends on how old your maxima is.
When removing the stripe, i noticed a tan line left from the sticker. I had to hire a professional detailer who color sanded my car and removed the line. It was pretty bad.
So if you do decide to take off your stripe, be careful....

If you have no expierence debadging or removing pinstriping #1 take it slow you dont want to make a costly mistake. I know that the maxima and 3.5se badge don't leave holes but will leave some holograming unless polished to perfection. (real polish= somewhat abrasive) If i had to give advise find a good detailer (like me) and pay them $50 to do it correctly. If you really want to do it PM me I could give you some pointers. P.S. I am not aware of the actual nissan symbol as I have the lip spoiler and left m ine on. others chime in

Thanks, well the pinstripe came off with no problem and no residue.. Apparantly this was done aftermarket cause the lines was not straight at all. I'm going to wait to debadge it. Damn the car looks alot better without that grey pinstripe

Nine times out of ten the 3m wheel will scratch your paint. Use a hairdryer or heatgun to warm it up and slowly peel it off. Make sure you dont over heat as that could also do damage. Also 3m adhesive remover is an awesome product for getting them off, it will penetrate the pinstripe and make it easy to pull off. Good luck!
