Backed into this guy's car...

Long story short, I backed into this dude's Ford while leaving this restaurant. I didn't see him at all...I guess he got behind me at the last second or something. I put it into reverse, and tapped the gas a bit then *boom*....f*ck! I got out and this is what I saw...

A few more...

Needless to say his front end owned my rear bumper. Not pleasant when a sedan and SUV gets into a fight...and DAMN Ford makes some solid bumpers! His car wasn't that badly damaged. Just a dent near the driver side fogs. Good thing was that no one was hurt. Sad day for my car.

Yeah the Greddy is fine. That was one of the first thing I checked. Got on my stomach and looked at the muffler and its pipings. I would have cried if I saw the muffler all banged up. The trunk won't latch, so yeah it def needs alignment.

I agree you could get the LED'S now. You can tell that he does'nt even care about his "truck" anyway from all the bug juice and splatter on the hood and front. He'll probably just pocket the free money. Surely he wont invest in a carwash..

Man, sorry to see that. Is he trying to make you pay for anything on his truck, doesn't look like it did anythin except maybe wipe a few bugs off. It's could be an opportunity to upgrade if you like. Should be lots of OEM tails out there if you want to stay stock.

Wow I didn't even see that down there. You gonna try to pull it or just get a replacement. Probably won't have to paint it, looks plastic bumper gray.

You may need a new bumper and reinforcement. The bumper itself is like $250 + another $250 for the reinforcement if you need it. Paint on top of that, you're looking at a $1000 project without the tail light...

I'd do the 2007 bumper and LED tail

I would beg to differ here. I took 2 pretty good hits straight on in the rear (sorry for sounding gay) and the first one was little more than cosmetic and the second just cracked the shell. Thank god!. I was impressed how the maxie took it especially the second time I got rear ended at close to 50 MPH.

damn! 50 mph??

i can't imagine what that would look like considering the amount of damage mine took from backing up 5-10 mph.

Difference here is i took it straigh in and not at a stop you went at an angle and hit the empty spot right below the light.

I'll post pics (if I can find) of the minimal damage I expirienced.. I was going like 50 and the drunk dude rear ended me from behind at llike over 70. Scared tha hell out of me as seconds earlier I looked in the rear view and nobody was there. It was lound bang, the car almost flew off the road, dude didn't want to pull over so I had to litterally block him. Bumper was cracket at the top but when I told my co-workers what happened they were like where did you get hit. If you weren't close to the car, you wouldn't see all the damage. The shell obviuosly was destroyed but the bumper underneath didn't have to be replaced.

The worst of it all was being all scared about my little one who was in the car with us (2 months at that time)

Now if i was at a dead stop and got rammed at 50 that would have been a completely different story but I've seen pictures posted here proving maxima to be a safe car. You may not use that care again, but if you can safely walk away and buy another one, that would be all you need my friend.

I'd rather take a kick to the nads than have this happen. I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. If you love your car as much as I love mine, it hurts to see your max in pain.
