question for 6spd owners
Is it just me or does the car seem to pull slower in 2nd gear then in 3rd?
Somehow if I have it floored in 2nd gear it seems like its taking forever to get to redline, then I shift into third and the car just lurches forward and starts pulling hard.
For example I raced my buddies northstar caddy and in 1st and 2nd he was keeping up with me pretty good, then I shift to third and I start leaving him in the dust instantly.
Then I remember toying with this spec V sentra with I/H/E. 2nd gear roll and I pull barely a bumper, shift to 3rd and I start pulling hard on him immediately by multiple car lenghts.
The two examples above I think match my feeling that the car doesn't pull as hard in 2nd gear.
Now, could it be that the ECU is not applying full power in the first 2 gears as to control wheelspin? Or is it just something wierd with my car?

Mine seems ok and pulls less hard each gear up. Car will actually spin the wheels a little from 2-3 when shifting like a beast. Many cars are geared up to sprint nicely in 1st and 2nd, the horsepower advantage really takes over after 2nd gear though.

i feel 4th pulls the hardest
1st = no traction at all, i can let it idle and roll on the gas, as soon as i hit 4,000 rpm they are up in smoke
2nd = partial traction but if i hit 2nd a little to hard it spins till 60
2-3 will spin if i slam it as well for a solid 10-15 feet then hooks and rips though 3rd
4th pulls the hardest imo
5th is alright but nothing special, pulls nice to redline but for some reason my car wont let me shift into 6th fast enough to see what it can really do, i havnt tried with the headers/new clutch but before it would bog down in 6th at 150ish and just hold steady

Mine pulls great all the way through. Chirps the tires going into 2nd & 3rd.
It is fun to watch the rice burner drivers look over in surprise when I get that 3rd gear chirp.
No engine mods, just stock.
