I wasn't sure where else to look and recently I just bought a Purolator Pure One Air Filter Part Number: PA24278. Did I make the right choice?
I haven't installed it yet, and I'm not sure how to yet. What kinds of tools do I need? I assume just a screw driver?

I wouldn't get a K&N but a Fujita CAI. I think the K&N's run $20 to $25. I thought the Fujita CAI's are $175 range now. Get yourself ~12 more whp and if you ever do a CAI, the drop in filter is a throw away.

Does anyone have any experience with the Puralator though? Also, the only K&N I saw at advance auto parts near by me costed 50 bucks and it was the 'lifetime' warranty version.
I'm changing my air filter because I've passed the 30,000k mile mark and so I wanted to try something new outside of stock and I'm not neccessarily looking to get more power out of a new air filter but I'd like to improve efficiency if possible. Sounds like if something is going to give you more power, it's probably not as efficient, heh. I will take a look at the Fujita CAI though.

You did well with the Pure One, the K&N is good at passing air and fine particles, unless you racing stay with the paper filters. See below, also there are numerous tests out there showing the same results.

Went with Purolater One on both filters.

You can always re-sell a drop in K&N. Its just like any other used car part that isn't a throw away. The sound factor alone will prob push me towards CAI eventually! Love that VQ growl.

There is always a lot of talk about filters does anyone accually have back up on the cold air making more power than a drop in? Thier own dyno not the brands ad.
