Does anyone have a rebuilt tranny in their max. Or can the transmission even be rebuilt. I went to the dealer and they said that they just swap our the transmissions, but other places say that the transmission in an 04 max can be rebuilt. I was wondering if this is true.

My trans is starting to slip hard from first to second car has 30k changed oil with nissan k matic! I hear an lot of members talking about changing to synthetic or other but it clearly says in manual use k matic only or transmission failure or deterioration will occur!! anyone use something different and have no problems?

Read closely in the your owner's manual or service manual: nissan k matic or equivalent can be used. The only ones that I have heard that are equivalent are the full synthetic ATFs like the ones made by Amsoil or Castrol. It will say on the bottle if it is compatible. Most are not aside from the few synthetics.

I am using Amsoil. Still running 2k later. Too early to tell if there are any new problems. This is one of those much-debated issues and you will get a myriad of answers.
