Rear Headrest differences?

I parked beside another Max yesterday and noticed a difference between it's rear headrests and mine. Something I had never noticed before.

The other vehicle had rear headrests that dovetail into the rear seats, while my 2004 Max's headrests sit more on top of the seats.

The other vehicle was a five seater SE as is mine.

Anyone know the difference? It didn't seem to be a 2007 model.

The Nissan Maxima brochures seem to show the 5 seat (non-elite) rear headrests sitting on top of the rear seats for all 6th gens ('04 thru '07).

The '04 brochure also shows the same 'on top' rear headrests for the elite.

The '05 brochure is showing the elite with a fashionable dark interior, instead of an informative light one, which makes it impossible to see details.

The '06 and '07 brochures show what looks like a slight dovetailing for the rear headrests on the elite only.

I like that the rear headrests are very adjustable, and can be either pushed firmly down against the seat, or set at any of several heights (and locked into place) to fit correctly against the seat occupant's head.

The rear headrests in my S60T5 Volvo snap down with a press of a button on the dash... great for whacking people on the head when they say stupid things!
