suicide doors question

alright. today i saw a Rolls Royce Phantom at work and i fell in love with the idea of suicide doors. I think it would look very nice on a 4 door black car like mine (and so was the Rolls). i can't seem to find any kits online, can you guys point me in the right direction? how much am i looking at spending here? $2-3 grand or more? i would only be interested in getting the rear doors changed so the door handles are next to each other. anyone have them already?

There was a car on cardomain that had suicide doors. I figure it would be $5-10,000 for custom suicide doors.

Good timing...I have the kit do it. I'm gonna offer a group buy soon for those and vertical 90 degree doors. I should have something in stone by next week. They'll be under a thousand for sure...Kenny

remember the hardware cost about 400 bucks or less, the rest is modifying labor.

I had this done on my 01 Altima and the cost is about 750 per door PLUS the hinge kit which is like another $300 (for both) so you are looking at about 1800 bucks. I didnt have to pay for mine because a shop did it for free (sponsor) but I did have to pay for the kit. AND it was not a bolt on kit. Alot of fabrication went into this.

If I were to get Lambo doors, I would want a bolt on kit which I believe is more expensive.

verticaldoors inc. came out with some for our cars. it's a direct bolt on. I think it's about 1800 or something for that one. Your car would look real nice with those doors deus.

yes that is true --- but Dues remember that the bolt on kit is (1) expensive (2) is a 80 degree lift as opposed to a 90 degree lift for the weld on. I am going to offer the 90 degree lift for around $850 and the suicide set up up for $425.It really makes no sense to spend that much more for a lesser product. For that price you might as well go with the kit that opens automatically with your remote. You got any questions buddy give me a shout...

I agree. Besides, this is a Maxima not a lamborgini. If you buy a lambo then you can have vertical doors, I dont think they belong on anything except that.

I wouldn't say don't get them though, I kinda like them.

this is the 90 degree one that opens straight up, not to the side.

Disappointed by the 90 degree doors on that Max. Just does not have the awe I was expecting. It might be because the car is so low. But much better than the 80 degree doors.

While the vehicle is parked, such a door would hide an entering or exiting passenger from the view of passing cars. Furthermore, the result of the door actually being hit would likely be more catastrophic, since the door would be slammed shut onto the passenger even if merely nicked at the outside edge. A door hinged at the front, in contrast, would be pushed away from the passenger and possibly torn off entirely.

Eh, I always heard it was cause they would unlatch at speed or pop open in the event of a wreck...

I am going to do the full 90 degree lift in the front...and a reverse 90 degree lift in the rear...been working on the details for sometime, because in all my research I haven't seen a car with that setup yet. Be cool to be the first person to have done it...but also wish I could get some knowledge from someone who's been down that road....

The 90 degree kit is on Ebay cheap as hell. That and suicide doors look too good on this maxima body. Gec, how much is your kit gonna be? I hope you can compete with Ebay as far as price goes, but I dont know...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NISSA...QQcmdZViewItem
Yeah nevermind. This guy's feedback is terrible.

You would still need the B pillar for structural integrity of the car.
