When is an alignment recommended??
I know its best if you can get an alignment whenever you can (if you can afford to), but when is it recommended?
Brought my Max in for 15k service.
And the service guy, recommended an alignment. Didnt say i needed it, but recommended it was a good idea.

Would a 4 wheel alignment help this or is this not the problem?

Im not suffering from any type of pull, my Max drives just fine.

You should also do an alignment anytime you replace your tires as well. Even good to do after you rotate tires. I would recommend to buy a lifetime alignment, you pay one price and get it aligned as often as you want. If you get this, I would do an alignment every 7000 miles or so, or after you hit a big pot hole in the road.

Do you know if this is offered via your dealership or is it a nissan thing?

Anyone else know of any alignment deals through the major Auto repair chains, or if Nissan has a plan?

I've had my alignment done about 5 times in the past two years... each time, they'll straighten out the steering wheel and everything will be great. Give it about 100 miles and the wheel is turned to the left and pulls to the left again. Any ideas?
As for Atlanta, Butler tire is supposed to be one of the best.

This same thing is happening to me. Get it aligned and right after that the wheel is turned to the left and pulling to the left. Driving me crazy!
The dealer did the last alignment, but if I could get it done cheaper and have it LAST somewhere else, that would be great.

Anyway, my wheel now points to the left and the car doesn't quite pull in a straight line. I was wondering if the alignment job was done incorrectly, but the shop said that the machine was recently calibrated and other cars were fine. Any ideas?

I get my wheels (all 4) alligned once a year in late May, just before all of the summer driving. It is a lot cheaper than buying new tires -- particularly for an SE. I put between 15 K and 20 K miles a year on my Max.
Why do I recommend a 4-wheel allignment at least once a year. Well, my Max came from the factory with the rear wheels slightly out of allignment. I was rotating my tires every 7.5 K miles, and it was 1.5 years before I noticed that there were cups worn in the tread of all 4 tires. There was never any pulling or noise from the tires. These cups slowly wore into the tread (you could feel them by rubbing you hand over the surface of the tread). As the cups got deeper with time, a rumble started coming from the tires. I got the wheels alligned, but it was too late. I drove with this rumble (particularly noticable between 40 and 70 MPH) for almost a year. So I ended up replacing my tires before they were worn out to get rid of this rumble. I now get an annual allignment to save the tires.

So many on this site say: "What is an extra 20 cents per gallon when I'm already paying over $3 per gallon for gasoline." To which I answer: "If you don't use the maximum performance that premium provides, why pay extra for it." This is a saving that I understand and use.
A savings I don't understand: saving $69 for a full wheel allignment that can save you improperly wearing out tires that (if you get the best ones) cost over $200 per tire. If you don't put many miles on your Max, you probably don't need to get the allignment checked every year. But at least get it checked on occasion. Improperly worn tires are a real pain -- I know because I had them.
