Don't worry, there's nothing on your car that money can't fix (quote from a large number of service advisors asked similar questions to the one you have posed...

There are two straps under the front of the read seat that release the lock that holds the bottom part in. This exposes the bolts that hold the seat back assembly.

good luck

Those were straps in the front? They sure didn't feel like straps. Well I just finished everything and all went well. I had to manually un-coil the seat belt and put it back in place and then it worked fine; as for the seats, when i had them folded up-right i pulled them out from the bottom inside and they came out easily, just a little "elbow grease" lol but they didn't come out fully, so i'm assuming that's where the 2 straps would have came in, but i still got done what i needed to be done

Don't tamper with seatbelts. They are covered for over 10 years (Warranty) as this is a Federal Government requirement. Just take the car to any Nissan dealer and they can help you for free!

I'm not sure why, but i am getting the feeling, once mentioned by nismomax80.... that some memebers feel like this is where nissan maxima specialist sit and await people to post questions. Posting question and/or concerns i really understand... inwhich i have done myself. IMO if the answer wasn't in the sticky... then i wouldn't hold my breath....

Okay, now that is out of my system,... why do you need to take them out so bad and so quickly? Stole one and need to part it out?

lol to all the comments above me! But the reason I had to remove the seats was because i lost a mini screwdriver and a gear from the seatbelt assembly, which i found both and everything is alright now!

And that was an emergency?

Why not lie to us and tell us it was something terribly important. Like:

1. Her pregnancy test stick fell between the seat cushions before you could tell if it went pink or blue.

2. Your best "buddy" just admitted he freaked and stashed his wad of coke under the seat when that cop stopped you last week.

3. The Mafia told you that you had 2 hours to get the bookie receipts you had hidden under the seat to them, or they'd rip your intestines out.

4. A small animal of some kind burrowed into your back seat before dying late last night, and you can already begin to smell it.

5. There was some kind of blackish, tarry smoke seeping out from under the seat, and you had a full tank of 93 octane sitting right under it.

I mean, aren't those lots more "emergency" sounding reasons? Geez, use your imagination ...

as far as keeping your back seats out..... they really don't weigh all that much..... looks rediculous with them gone IMO...... it's a max not a civic.... I went to the dealer the other day just to take a look at the 06 max and see the difference between the 04 and 06 and he looked at me like I was crazy.... had the nerve to ask why I was interested in looking at it being I was under 40 years old...... I told him he should know about the cars he is trying to sell people before asking such rediculous questions..... then we test drove it...... he really didn't say too much after that...... the six speed is a hell of a lot better than the 5 speed as far as having fun..... he was grabbing the ohh **** handle once I hit the corner getting on the highway..... then I pulled back into the lot gave him the keys and hoped into my max...... LOL should have seen the look he gave me...... priceless..... anyways that was my experience today had to share it sorry to get off topic..... just upsets me to have people be so stereotypical of people who like speed thinking they can't have a nice good looking car also..... ohh beat a Spec B Subi tonight also..... should have seen it I was representing tonight..... naturally aspirated vs turbo charged allwheel drive from 60mph on his mark and gone I was..... not by a whole lot but enough to see him in the review.....
