Ok, so is the 5SP AT without VDC and without TCS available? My early 2004 has neither... sorry to beat a dying (dead?) horse. I'm not sure if by saying "5AT" you mean "5AT with TCS but without VDC" or just the 5AT by itself, since in later cars you got one or the other.

Thanks.

Yes 5AT by itself, no TCS or VDC. You're good to go.

I don't think that's a problem. He kept saving over the old file when he was doing my car.

The mod info is good, but if you can get him your AFR print out (from dyno), it would be better since some mods change your stock AFR.

Well I guess I need to get a dyno first. Question? should I disconnect the battery first to clear out any ECU recalibration because of my mods or just get a straight up Dyno???

Well my engine cover graphic work cost more than an flashed ECU and I gained 0-hp as a result. Need more power...

I needto get a meter to tune it. Fuel mixture was getting to lean.

I had the same mods as last time. I did not have the run files last time. But the whp was about the same.

Tek, wouldn't they give all the 6th gen Maximas your program? Especially since the generic flash seems to have issues.

OK...so I love the idea of ECU tune, but I'm kinda attached to my warranty still. Is there any way to increase fuel just a little? like maybe increasing fuel pressure?

sorry if that's a stupid question, but I'm working on my edumacation...

Increase fuel requires remapping. Dealership probably won't know the ECU is reflashed, since it will still retain the same version number; unless someone actually check the codes and values.

my dealer said if I get a CEL they won't clear it for free under warranty cause its aftermarket, but they are the ones who installed it the first time for me..

I can erase my CEL with my OBD-II, If you went to any Autozone, Autobacs, etc and got a free ECU fault code reading, couldn't you ask them to also hit the erase button??? That turns off the CEL light...

That's cool, I also meant just in case, that the dealer is not the only option for clearing a CEL light...

Just got the CE y-pipe on Monday and the TS ECU. Monster gains. Had some pinging so I backed the timing with my software. I saw some old codes (this is a spare ECU I bought) and cleared them at the same time. D*mn, SES light came on after 30 minutes of driving: P0171- compensation too high for system lean condition (too much air or not enough fuel pressure).

Checked that everything is tight and no exhaust leaks (O2 sensor is ok). I figured by now that TS whould have resolved all lean conditions with all the dyno time Tek did.

Got old ECU back on to see if Y-pipe or ECU is culprit. 3 trips and no SES. I will drive a few more days, clean the MAF and get TS ECU back on. A spare ECU is worth it-$125 www.car-parts.com - must match the model printed on ECU. Mine is MU A56-X50.

I did't get any pings or SES when I put the y-pipe in.

I have slight pinging sometimes and I have no SES. I figure if you splash it with 100 octane, pinging will go and u get more power.

Pigning could mean a lot of things. Can any of you monitor A/F (with an upstream wb) and/or timing?

When TS cloned the immobilizer to the second ECU, they copied everything: IMMO code, VIN, and the extra +2 advance I had manually added. I use Sunoco 91. I played it safe with the TS ECU and went to -2. Pigging stopped. Will try 93 and adjust.

I use Autoenginuity. I got over 30 minutes of RPM, A/F, intake temp, timing, and other sensor data with TS ECU. The O2 1 sensors were reading .14 - .95 (range is 0-2.55V). Have to do some reading on this.

Got to record a baseline with Y-pipe only. I did not keep previous runs to compare what is happening. Also got to check if MAF is reading within specs. Neat tool. Others may be better but its really usefull.
