Weatherstripping deteriorating - anyone else??
Hey guys - Lately I have been a bit bothered by a little bit of "wind noise" on my driver's side door (more in the background, not really consious of it). I have been kind of wondering why the vehicle just hasn't been as quiet as it used to be. It is now 1.5 years old.
Today I noticed that the weatherstripping on the car (that the driver's door closes against, on the right side) is really starting to wear. Getting wrinkled and starting to fall apart. This must be the noise cause.
I haven't seen many threads related to low quality weatherstripping, so I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

I don't know about an increase in wind noise but mine faded and looked like crap. I had the dealership replace it, they did it under the warranty even though my car had 32K miles on it. The service manager said it is covered for 12months or 12K miles. I got mine fixed because they messed up. I have heard of some dealership honoring the warranty if your car has passed the 12K miles.
Also be careful, they cracked my windshield doing the replacement. They had to install a new one.
Good luck!
Mike

The weather-stripping on my old 04 Max started falling off on several of my doors within the first year of ownership. It wasn't necessarily deteriorating, just falling off like POS. Naturally, I took it to the dealer for them to fix (more than once I might add).

I JUST noticed the same the 'Wind Noise' on my drivers side door as well, just last week. probably been there a little while, just didn't notice it because i rarely have my stereo off, or low enough to hear it, but haven't taken it to the dealer yet.
