Is the 6th Gen Max ugly?

I personally think the body is ugly, nice interior but gnarly exterior.

I think it's hot, but feels like I'm driving a tank compared to the 4th Gen. It feels way to big. So I let my dad drive the 6th Gen. A lot of company's are basing their new cars on the 6th Gen Body. Toyota Avalon, Lexus GS

I don't like the bucktooth look of the front grille, but I would like to own one anyhow. I can always get an aftermarket grille...

I like the 4th gens more than the 6th gens...that grille is just out of place. But i still like the 5th gen anniversary with its body skirts and unique headlights best.

I don't think it's ugly. However it is a boat. Doesn't make it a bad looking car though.

What does sitting inside one have to do with what we think of it's appearance?

I love all maximas. The Gen 6 is hot looking. The Gen 5 has the better interior design, Gen 4 is my personal favorite... They just feel right (perfect size) and the build feels tighter and of better quality than any of the newer generations. Gen 3 is my favorite exterior design ever. Gen 2 is what started my love for Max's. Gen 1, I can barely remember.

The Gen 4 door panel liked to work into my knee. Why they designed that to "drop down" for the window switches has always been beyond me. Gen 5 fixed that problem, and I fit perfect in it. And in 2002, the 255 hp and 6 speed was introduced. So I went for that one!

6th gens are way too big. I prefer my 10-year old car with the guts of the new ones transplanted into it. Feels much more nimble and weights 600 lbs less than the 6th gen.

4th and 5th gen interior owns all, IMO.

Independant suspension for 04 was a step forward, but everything else except the 5-speed auto is a backward one.

IMO, the 6th has a fugly front end. And whats with the big square piece in the middle where the grill is, where there's a nissan emblem on it??? That thing looks very out of place. The rear end can take some getting used to. I like the 4th and 5th gens, especially if they are both done up nicely with body kits.

The 6th gen is just plain hideous, it even surpassed the Altima in ugliness. The car doesn't look classy at all, unlike 4th and 5th gens. The interior is not bad though.
IMO, the 5th gen is the best looking max in stock form, followed by the 4th gen. Although 4th gen looks the nicest when modded with good style, which is rare.

I voted YES... sorry but I think the 6th gen is ugly. I can't accept it as a Maxima anymore, it's not longer a teenager car, I can only see 50+ ppl driving it.

If it was atleast the same dimensions as the previous maximas, then I'd consider liking it, but it's just to big to be a Maxima.

The interior of the car is also very fugly, the dash is to boxy IMO.

Stock Standards, 5th Gen is my favorite

Modded, 4th Gen Takes it.

Not a fan of the front end either (namely the grill and the way the fogs are set on the side), but I do find myself liking the way the back looks. Looks pretty tough.

whoever posts pointless threads like this ... that's the root cause of the problem ... dozens of locked threads or a half dozen banned that cannot post these type of useless threads.

The area where I live, there's a lot of people in their 20s driving the 6 gen. And they are acting all hard and posing in it like they are driving an exotic car. It's stupid. One time, some kid in it cut me off. We both ended up at the light. He didn't suspect that I was driving a 5-speed. Light turns green and I lit him up, he was totally caught off guard. I beat him thru the off-ramp as it goes from 2 to 1 lane. I was on the freeway and gone! That was one of the rarest times I drove aggressively in my Maxima. I felt like a kid again.

To me it is, because here in NYC, 90% of the maxima owners are around 20yrs old.

I've posted this numerous times but the altima is the "new maxima" The 05-06 maxima was made to compete with Lexus and Mercedes, etc. When the car first came out I hated it, it's starting to grow on me but I would rather have that new Lexus GS or Altima SE-R. I saw one the other day with a trenz style grill and it looked clean, I think a trenz grille and some 19z would do it just about right, SE version of course. One day i hope nissan will get it right with these sedans, they either have ugly fronts (new max) or ugly tails (altima).
