Wheel Spacers

For a 5mm spacer, do you need to install longer studs for the lug bolts?

I'm thinking no, but just want to be sure.

I thought it was anything bigger than 5mm then you'd need the longer stud

You definitley need the longer studs. I have the same spacers as Chern, and when I first did the front brakes I did not replace the studs. Anyway, after a couple of days I noticed a clicking sound when I was driving, come to find out it was loose wheel lugs. The funny thing is when they were put back on they were done with an air gun. So I replaced the studs and now no more clicking sounds or loose lugs.

Ichiba has 5mm spacers with longer studs fro $59.00 per set of 2.

I got these guys and the craftsmanship is out of this world.

They get more expensive as they get thicker. Here is a link. I think they were listed somewhere in the GB section.

If you're going to put on spacers, make it worth it. Add 10 or 15mm. What is the reason you're adding them? Is it just for appearance, or are you trying to clear a BBK? Seems as if it's just for appearance since you are deterred by the fact that you have to remove the rotors. Replacing studs isn't that difficult, it would take an hour max using a rinky dink floor jack for 2 wheels. It's not a hard task in the least bit, so I really don't think you should use that as an excuse.

What is the width and offset of your wheels now?

Totally agree. I added 10mm spacers up front and it just looks great. I am getting new rims just to clear my BBK because my current setup won't clear the calipers even with 10mm. When I do the install I will still leave the spacers on. They are great!

I took my guy about 20 minutes to change it so yeah a home brew solution shouldn't take more then an hour.

Mainly for aesthetics is the reason I'm considering them. I guess if I have to pull the rotors then so be it. ***** of it is I had them off 2 weeks ago.

What do you guys think? Could use spacers or leave them be? Wheels just seem slightly sunken in, but I don't like when they look like they're poking out either

They already look perfect, IMO if you must go, 5mm spacers is all you need and you will give your car an overall 1/2 inch wider stance...

Instead of asking yourself that question, just visualize your wheel 5 or 10mm out from where it is now.


I like my wheels as close to flush as possible.

I had 5mm on all four with my Foose's. It looked fantastic. The downfall was that I cheaped out and bought the cheap universal disks. The eibach kits have the center bored to fit our hub size. 5mm will look great JG1.

KC- what was the offset on the Speedsters? W/ the 5 mm spacers, they look perfectly flush. I'm hoping you'll say ET 35. I have ET 35 on 8.5"w. rim and I think another 5 mm will do the trick.

Honestly, I don't know. I just went and looked at one and they it dosent say. Im guessing 35-40.

The only downfall to spacers was the amount of crap (rain, dust) thrown from the front wheels.
