(thanks for the pic carcus)
this is what we could of had to make all these icons work:

"Motorola (NYSE:MOT) announced today it has teamed up with Nissan Motor Corporation U.S.A. to introduce the Infiniti Communicator, an in-vehicle communications system (IVCS) available in 1998.5 Infiniti Q45 and I30 luxury sedans, beginning in March"

makes me think even more our screen was to be used also in some Infinitis.

this is why the self-diagnostic asks if you hace IVCS (answer no) and why we have so many unused icons.

The code 25 you saw says your sunload sensor was not working or else it could be you were doing this in the dark. You should get a code 20 if the first test is o.k. During the next test a code 30 should appear if everything is o.k. During the next series of tests codes 41-46 will appear as all the air blend doors are checked.

The IVCS stands for in vehicle communication system or cell phone. You should probably answer no to this and no to sat if you don't have satellite radio.

For those who don't know to get into Self-Diagnostics for non-navi cars:
1. Start engine
2. Turn off Radio
3. While holding down pause/mute button turn volume control in either cw or ccw direction for at least 30 notches. A beep will then be heard. You use the joystick button and Prev buttons to get around.

think i found it. this is what we could of had to make all these icons work:

I have this in my 99 i30...it has onstar-like buttons near the rearview mirror (emergency, info, etc) and steering wheel controls on the left side (opposite of cruise) for speed dial, send/end and volume. According to the dealership when i asked them about this, the cell phone service ended like a year after it started and was "one of infiniti's biggest mistakes" (dealer's words not mine)...oh well guess there's no hope for this in the 6th gen. It would be pretty sweet though

under PARTS: blank adj. it's set at 10 with a range from 5-15. The 10 refers to the number of seconds a screen stays up before going back to where it was before you entered it.
