Now THIS is a mod!!

Came out this morning to find this:

(Yes, there is a damn boat parked in the lot of our Dallas apartment) Someone hit the boat which of course had to hit the max. No note of course, but I think we got the person that did it, waiting for the cops to call back now, at least they came out to look at it.

I'm bummin. On the bright side, it's limited to the fender and getting the lower grill painted body color should be cheap.

Not everyone can say that their car was hit by a boat.

Stucks though

Sorry about what happened... One of my main reasons to initiate modding was an accident... which led to cheaper paints and installs for my kit, etc... But that's just for me... Hope you get yours fixed soon~~

wow okie,

I thought I was the only that had this happen to me. Living here in Florida guys sometimes tend to park their boats anywhere they want. I had a guy scrape my front and scratch my grille. I feel your pain but I went after him for all the damages. Hope everthing turns out well!!!

Hes right Okie. I bet this damaged your stock intake, exhaust and rims too. Time to upgrade!!

BTW, there is a really good joke in that picture, I just cant quite put my finger on it...although the 4th and 5th gens could easily make the "boat" connection....

Yeah, there is a joke there somewhere, I just don't find it amuzing.
Short story, the police report will say the vehicle parked next to the boat did it (damage on his truck made it obvious), we'll see what happens now. They are calling it a hit and run.

Thanks for the well-wishes!

All the damage is limited to the fender.

Thats good news. Should be any easy fix, and shouldnt cause you squeaks and rattles after the fix.

Dented my ride

I washed my ride last saturday. The weatherman said it would be sunny the whole following week. Of course it rained on monday. I dropped my daughter off at shool and then decided to park the car and play with her a bit. Damm me, I backed into a post and got a huge dent. I have $1k deductible and three quotes: $2800, $800 and $500. Decided to go with the $500 guy. A buddy recommend the shop for inexpensive good work. He charges $30/hr labor for 10hrs. The paint shop takes another $200.

ACK!!
Estimate in at 1200 .. new fender, blend paint into door and hood. Of course I have a 1K deductable, lol. Odds are they will never get a dime outta the moron that did the damage, so I'm basically out the $1K . Great.

Sorry to hear about your ride. I can relate, I purchased a 2000 Max brand new and had it for twelve hours and I was rear ended at a stop light. needless to say I was not happy. It stings for a while but it makes for a good story.
