Feedback on Dealer Quote
Hello for the first time to all fellow Maxima Owners. This is my first post and I tried to find a thread on this before but couldnt find one.
I currently drive a '97 SE and will be trading in for a '05 SE before years end. So far the best internet quote I have is $27,000 for an SE with DPP, floor mats and mud flaps. TTL is not included in that but all other fees are.
I'm in the Orlando area and there are quite a few dealerships to work with. Do you think I'll do much better than that?
One other thing to note is I requested Smoke ext./Charcoal int. but no one seems to have that in stock here so far. I figure I'll be able to play the "I guess I'll settle for that other color" card to get a bit more knocked off.
OH and if there is a thread with pricing floating around please point me in that direction and I'll add this one to it.
Thanks!

Just for fun try carmax. They usually only mark up the price on all cars 3%, hence the no haggle deal. Use that as a base price. I posted elsewhere on the ORG how you should be able to walk out the door paying 2% less than sticker for the car. If you can do that you got yourself a good deal.

You're price looks very good. I'm not sure how much mud flags, floor mats cost. I am hoping to get in the 26500 - 27000 range on a 05 se with dpp and nothing else.
I've also got a dealer willing to sell 04 models for 7000 below msrp. Which would price an SE with DPP at about 24500. Does anything think I should jump on this offer (figure its a 2000 - 2500 savings of an 05 model)? Only problem might be lack of inventory (dealer claims to have about a dozen 04 models).

ok being that i used to sell nissan's here is my 2 cents:
1. the invoice on the SE with DPP should be around $28,802
2. there is a $1,000 rebate on it. So $27,802. You were offered $27,000, very odd. Hold back on the car is not $800, so look for them to pick money up, they will probably try to pick up destination again or some sort of delivery charge. Or wack you with a high interest rate.
3. Nothing is life is free. Unless nissan is offering dealer's some sort of extra incentive on the max. Like if you sell such amt of maximas you will get extra $500 per car. I cant see you getting that car for 27k.
4. I would say if you can get the max at invoice minus rebate you got yourself a awesome deal. The dealership that offered you 27k would try to accomplish that one way or another to break even. Whether you get less for your trade, high interest or some hidden charge.

I'm looking for almost the exact same car here in Tx and I would jump on this deal. Can you possibly look for other financing to avoid the dealer sticking you with a high interest rate?
Another question. Do you guys know if the rebate is still offered if the car is transferred or traded from one dealer to another? The rebate fine print says you have to select from dealer stock. Does a transfer count as dealer stock?

Regarding Calculations...
From edmunds..the below are invoice prices for an 05 max se
base model - 24871
DPP - 3166
destination - 560
Total Invoice = 28597
Rebate - (1000)
Invoice Price with Rebate = 27597
+ Doc Fee (or any other fee)
+ TTL
I have got one dealer who offered the car for 27297 + fees/TTL. It seems like others have gotten 500 under. On person on Edmunds posted today that he got it for 700 under.
Lets say the doc fee is $100. This means Bridger is getting the car for more than 700 under invoice. This sounds like a very good deal.
