Does anyone here have the clear bra, and if you do, are you able to see it at all, because I know some have said that you can see it, and it makes the car look weird.

i think it depends on the color of the paint if it is visible. but i decided that i don't care anymore. protecting my paint is more valuable to me than a little plastic showing at certain angles.

this paint chips so easily.

I see that you have the smoke color on your maxima, which is the color I want to get, so does it show on yours, and does it actually work and help prevent chips.

I feel your pain, I had a stone chip the size of a quarter driving home from the dealership. I had the 3M clear bra installed to my entire bumper and hood, here in Toronto and I have yet to get a new stone chip, IT REALLY WORKS. It cost me 600.00 Canadian or around 425.00 U.S. well worth it.

FYI my 04 is light silver and barely visable

Good luck

I thought about getting this installed but I really think it will look bad and highly visible on Smoke. I have a few small chips here and there. Not enough to sweat it though. If you do buy this, you should be able to go to any local sign shop and have them install it. It's just vinyl, no big deal.....previously in the vinyl business so I think it's all easy sorry...

If anyone here has the smoke Maxima with the clear bra on it, could you please post if it is visible or not, and if it looks good.

Why the thinking of it would be "more visible" on darker colored cars? You have to see in person, even black car is invisible.

this person has http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=351901

I have a silver.

Thanks,

I shown these pictures several times before, but here is an encore of how a spirited bronze looks in the bright sunlight.

I personally have seen it on red, black and smoke colored cars. I can't get past the fact that it almost dulls the look of the paint where it is. I personally could not stand it. I'll live with a few baby chips here and there.

I only consider the invisible bra because I hear everyone on here talking about how easily the paint chips. I have not seen it on a dark colored car yet, but it would suck if it dulled the paint down. Hey Smoken04, how bad are the chips on your maxima, because that is the color I want, and are the chips very visible.

Here is the link to the 3M website on the product.

http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/_...1/_s.155/98905

Plus-- www.xpel.com they sell kits and will install-- I think they're in NJ
I bought bulk film and installed myself.

My car is Brand new, and I have autobody paint background -- (currently do custom airbrushing on the side) -- this product does not look dull at all, and actually is truly invisible as far as translucency and surface finish is concerned -- the only indication is an edge.

Ok, here's my opinion on this.

I have a 2001 Sunlit Sand Max and I had the clear bra put on. I got into an accident recently and had the entire front end redone. They took off the clear bra to spray my car and they told me that the edges of the clear bra were dirty as hell. I did believe this because I had this for over 2-3 years and it was sorta getting dirty even though I washed the car regularly. Just the edges though.... but the clear bra did work! Thats my opinion. Now that I got the car back, I think I'm gonna put it back on but doing it myself this time to save $$.

A-

NissanFreak2000: The chips on my car aren't THAT bad. I have a nasty one on the front pass fender right at the top of the it. That one is bad. Other than that, I have a couple minor chips and I mean minor. your first one you freak but like I said, it's a daily driver and I have seen dark and light cars with the clear bra and imo it makes that part look dull and me no like that.

Thanks for the info Smoken'04, I hope that maybe one day Nissan will do something to help this chipping problem.
