Auto Dimming Side View Mirror swap

Just curious if I was able to find and purchase a 04 Maxima SL without the auto dimming side view mirrors, is there a way to swap those out and make them work with the 05 auto dimming side view mirrors?

Has anyone actually performed this task yet?

Not sure if it will be cost effective in the long run, but sure it could be done if the wire was spliced. If you were going to replace the mirrors, folding mirrors with night dim would be better if you were going all out. Personally, my side view mirrors not dimming, even on a highway, were never a issue to me. If I could add ONE thing that pisses me off I did not get on my Maxima, would be the seat memory, would love to have that option for me and the wife as I am alot taller than her and once someone screws with my seat, takes me forever for some reason to get it the way I like it again. If I could just get a wrecked Max and get that seat memory module.......grrrrr...

It sounds like a great idea I would love to have, but then I don't think my Auto-dimming Rearview Mirror is all that special. So why do I need more of the same. The sensor picks up glare and changes the display, true, but many times I look into the mirror and it does not appear to be dimmed at all.

The bottom line to me, not worth the price just for bragging rights.

At first I was pretty jelious of the auto-dimming side view mirros, but then I got thinking about it and actually I like having atleast one mirror that isn't auto dimming. Why? Because at night sometimes you will notice that a truck or someone higher up (with bright lights) will make the auto dimming mirror go darker, and resulting is less detail being visible of other things (usually not a big deal directly behind you, but I'd hate for this to happen to my side view mirrors and not be able to see as well when trying to merge, etc). I know that you can turn the auto-dimming function off, but it takes a while for it to 'normalize'. Still, I like having an auto dimming mirror so that I'm not constanting being blinded, but still appreciate being able to correctly see behind/to the side of me with the side views.

I thought about getting them as well but I got all my windows tinted instead. I normally drive with them up or halfway down anyway. So I guess my mirrors are always dimmed by the tint
