I say we should start purchasing the new consoles now, so we can get them some time soon. I feel like nissan takes forever so the sooner the better.

only problem with the new console. its gonna have the hole for the 12v outlet.

i have the vin # for the 05 max se thats needed to order the brushed console.

i get good discounts at nissan. im just waiting for my friend to get back to me on price. i may order alot of them and have them shipped right from nissan.

if you can do that your the man, i was thinking the same thing with the outlet, we will just have to fill it with a cap. no biggie.

on the '04 interior the prices were outrageous
i remember the proces vaguley from chatting with the dealer when i ordered the cluster lid for the info screen, they were somthing like:
info lid area:$25
center consol piece:$600
bezel piece shifter plate:125
odomter lid:$117

6thGenMax , keep me posted, im gonna lose sleep over this.

thanks

Good lord, those prices are horrid. I'd be down for $80-90 total cost for replacement parts.

yea horrid is right, but its the truth. for some reason, nissan likes to spank their loyal customers. we are talking cheap parts to manufacture too. we will have to wait and see. maybe the '04 proces were high because they werent making manny in anticipation of the better '05 quality parts??? maybe that explains why i diddnt get my new '04 info screeen yet?

As I posted on the 'Here is official '05 Maxima VIN' thread a few moments ago, be careful with this. Upon very close examination tonight, I found the '05 SE console/dash parts are more 'antiqued' than brushed aluminum. Some won't like them. The '05 round shifter bezel is actually unchanged from '04.

Not trying to be a 'wet dishcloth'. But at the prices being charged, I would look VERY closely at an '05 SE before ordering. By now, most Nissan dealers should have an '05 SE either hidden in back or on its way.

yea? the kelly blue book shows trade in value on our cars as pretty low, how are you getting such a good deal? I have everything but elite package, 13,000 miles and kbb shows $25 on a trade in. THere is no way I am going to get a new max with the same options for under 30 anywhere around here. so thats a 5k difference, how are you getting such a good deal?

I baught my car with 7yr 100k warrenty, 3yr 36k service agreement, intire package for wheels, Every option available except elite. but i got it under one of the managers VPP. vehicle purchase plan. Its where you get the car nice and low under invoice. no questions. my max is only 2 months old and only has 3k miles. going back to the same dealer with another VPP. only thing im going to loose is the 7yr 100k warrenty which when i cash in will pay for the difference in the 04-05. there making it happen for me. VERY NICE DEALER!

If the prices to convert from a 04 - 05 are anything like the prices posted above.....would take a hard hit in the head with a hammer to get me to pay for the swap. Would rather live with what I have or go aftermarket with carbon. Hell, for the price of that center piece, I could get rid of my XM Roady and buy the XM rcvr and still save a few hundred bucks. No way in hell am I forking over money like that for interior trim....for the price of those...OUCH!!!

I hear ya, I checked several places too when i got thsoe prices, i thought they were including the stereo etc.. with the center piece but they assured me it was $600 for just the plastic piece. who knows, nissan is wacko. i hope to find out friday. I will take a ride over, even though i hate dealing with my dealer.

I am going to tell all of you guys straight off the bat though, if you want to swap the trim off a brand new 05 to a 04...going to cost you out the you know what....not even worth the hastle or the big bucks. Better off waiting to see what the aftermarket has. Until my stock 04 stuff is scratched to hell and either the dealer OFFERS to replace it with the 05 stuff out of them being sick of replacing it.....just waiting for some nice real silver carbon fiber trim that will in my opinion....look much better, and in the sun, not shine in my eye and distract me when I am driving. Just my 2 cents, but I imagine for the money I could drop on swapping out trim pieces......there are other things I could buy for the car that could make me much happier.

that carbon lay on stuff sucks.. looks soooo cheap. go test drive the dam 05 and take it back to your house and swap it out real quick. they wont know a dam thing. but im swapping the entire car. paying alittle out of pocket but i dont care. 05 has alot of things fixed that are screwed up on the 04. i cant stand dropping off the max 3 times a month for TSB work or other problems that i end up with. i get a marano loaner but still gotta go through paper work and waiting in line cause its sooooooooooooooo busy.
