WTT MY HEADS FOR YOURS

Im looking to trade my blacked out heads I just did for your clear ones. They must be in the condition mine are in, which is near perfect and must have factory HID like mine. You keep your HIDs and fogs, just send the headlights. You pay for your shipping and I pay for mine. Wont be more the 30 bucks to ship with Fedex. Pictures must be sent to me before I make a decision. People charge over 100 dollars to make your heads this way. Only reason I want to trade is because I want to make them different and I can't now with these without removing all then paint. Thanks

Before:

Yea people should really get on this. I spent this last week doing mine, it really wasn't as fun as I thought it would be haha. But the look is worth it.
Yours look clean man.

Why don't you guys work so you take all of your bulbs out and just trade the heads themselves?
IDK just an idea.

Honestly, I dont know the difference between the non-HID headlights and HID headlights.

I don't think that will work because I have an opening where the factory HID ballast installs.

Whats the failure rate on the seal once this has been done? I have an 06 in black that I'd really like these for, factory HIDs and all. I just don't want to have a set of lights that 3 months from now has moisture inside or something.

I've done about 100 sets of headlights. This is my first Maxima but they are no different. Why would it have moisture inside?? If you don't do them right and have no experience doing them, maybe but like I said. I've done many and never had an issue. I still have a set I did on my wife's car 4 years ago and never had issues.

The only time moisture becomes an issues is if they are not done correctly. There's nothing wrong with these heads so I don't really need to sit here and try to sell them as if there's something wrong with them. There isn't. I just want to do them with the chrome rings instead of completely black. To do that, I would have to remove all that paint and start over. Messy and why not help someone out that wants their black but are afraid to do it.

Im offering a great deal at my expense and all you pay is shipping. If someone wants them, fine. If not, that's fine too. I've been working on cars for 15 years and have had my ASE for 10. I do professional work.

Pics when I did them

Self Etching Primer, primer that will grab chrome, metal or a shinny surface. Help with next layer.

Build Primer

3 coats of engine paint that resits to heat. Not that it was needed here, I just like to use it to ensure good finish and to make sure it will last and not have to open the heads again.

Yea the whole seal thing is directly proportionate to the person working on it. If they slack off and are lazy with it, it will get a bad seal and most likely let moisture in.
If they are careful and methodical about it than it will be fine.

Plus once you get a good seal on them they are set. I mean think about it, when have you seen an old car (im talking 90's, 80's...) that just one day had a leak in the head lamps?
I haven't...
If it is resealed well than its fine.

I just did this with a leaking set I got cheap off ebay. I had to clean them up, prep for paint, paint and restore the head light lense. Then I had to heat the lense and the housing and move around some of the sealant to ensure a nice seal. I can tell you this sealant is nothing to mess with. It will last.

I wasn't asking you to try and "sell me" on them. I asked a simple question.

Good luck with that.

I and others have answered your simple question but I'll do it again. These heads now are no different then before they were painted. So how ever long factory heads last untouched, that's how long these will. I take special care in making sure that they wont fog up or retain moisture. The way to do that is to have patience when you first separate them. I also add more goo in spots I feel are low. Again, I've done hundreds and I do them professionally localy and charge about 100 bucks average, to do them. More on these because more work is involved.
