My brother had his cattman headers and y pipe installed a couple of weeks ago. The noise is still there. We thought it was the pre-cats,main cat, heat-shields...but with all that removed...the noise is still there...My mechanic says it sounds something related to the timing chain. One nissan tech told me its because I have sludge in the engine and I would have to replace the timing chain..and timing parts..etc...would cost me $2500 for the job..Of course I didn't go that route. Some people recommended me to add a bottle of lucas when I do an oil change. I have yet to solve this rattling sound.
